| | Lemony Snicket would like to meet Harry Potter
Daniel Handler, who writes the book series, A Series of Unfortunate Events under the character pen name of Lemony Snicket, recently did an interview with The Independent and had the following to say about our friend Harry: Quote:
Harry Potter seems like a very nice young fictional man. If I were in the habit of befriending fictional people, I'd be happy to make his acquaintance, but the trouble with fictional friendships is that you tend to find yourself sitting in a cafe, talking excitedly to an empty chair. After several hours, the staff will probably force you to leave, even if there are still uneaten madeleines sitting on your plate, all ready to be covered in strawberry jam. Normally, if you were being treated unfairly, you could count on a friend to help you, but a fictional friend - even one with fictional magic powers - will probably just stand there with a confused and fictional look on his or her face.
Even if you're not a fan of the books, I recommend you read this interview. His dry humour is very, well, humourous. LOL

| In Love with Touz | | Lil Mikky-Mu Heh, first to post I love his sense of humour... makes me wonder if I should read the books! (But then there's that whole so many books not enough time thing... *sigh*) I think the movie looks like it will be good, though. Handler seems like a real character himself lol.

I'd never heard of him or his books before the film came out, but it sounds like he has got an 'off the wall' kind of humour so I'd probably like him! I don't know if I will read the books though.

Yeah the interview was wickedly funny... Quote:

I keep trying to read the first one but it's soooo depressing, and he's always telling you to put it down so I do...

I like his books because of his sense of humor. The books aren't mind challenging like HP but they are funny.

His sense of humor is awesome, but I find the books quite annoying since he keeps interrupting them. (That might not make sense but once you read it you will know exactly what I mean)

Fictional friends are the best, they never go behind your back, but it is a bit odd to have a conversation with them in public!
I read the first three and the humor is good, but the storyline goes a bit slow. I still like the author, he did a reading here and came out and told the audience that Lemoney Snicket was stuck in traffic and couldnt make it to the reading--even though it was him. And the movie looks really really good!
