Don't worry, we're NOT going to spoil it for you.

But kids all over the world have been reduced to tears by finding out which key character dies in the fifth Harry Potter book.

We've all known for ages that JK Rowling had killed someone off, but now many of you have found out who it is - and you're not happy!

'Why? Why?'

"I was so sad when it happened I just burst into tears, because it was one of my favourite characters," Lucy, 14, from the US told Newsround's website.

Emily, 14, from Australia, said: "I cried for half an hour - is that enough?"

And Kenichi, 14, from London, simply said: "NO! Not them! Anyone but them! Why? Why?"

Rose, 14, from Bath said she was horrified: "I'm all shaking and crying. My favourite character as well!"

 *Crying massively*
I know who dies and i am sad for that person but im still not up to that part! I am not cring at all i am just afraid that i will cry if i read it coz i am up to that part. I heard that JK Rowling cried and was devistated when she made him die= then WHY DID SHE DO IT???!!!
To the person i am quoting. let me know when you get up to that part coz we can both share grief together(not as in lezo of gay of boy friend girlfriend or sumthing like that).

i would like to add this just to console people. he had to die because that's how it goes, it's harry's life and in life terrible things happen that u can't explain. harry wasn't created to solve wizarding problems, he was created as a person who had to deal with things in is life. it's like the thing with cho, its not very significant to the plots but it's there because as a guy (not a wizard) harry had that part of his life to experience. i mean, when your fighting evil someone's bound to die. i do, however, feel very bad for harry.

i was sad too because it was so quick, when yur tired and it's easy to be distracted it slips by you, took me a sec to realise he was gone. but when i read that albert hall thing JKR explained why it was so quick. things just happen liek that, in your life, no one warns you when Sh!t drops, you just have to deal with it when it comes.

Someone spoiled it for me before I read, but I didn't think it was the worst - I was glad it was that person and not my favorite character...

when i first read it i was like no way, that did not just happen. then it really hit me and i just started bawling. and i just thought y him. i dont understand y it had to be him to die. then i couldn't stop crying for the rest of the book and every time they mentioned his name or talkied about him it got worse. i so wish i understood her reasoning.
