| | John Williams confident he will return for Deathly Hallows
John Williams recently gave a lecture in the U.S. in which he briefly commented on the last Potter film, Deathly Hallows. He is confident he will return to score the final episode in the cinematic series.
Williams scored the first three HP movies, with Patrick Doyle taking the helm for Goblet of Fire, and Nicholas Hooper charging the reins after that for Order of the Phoenix & Half-Blood Prince.

But it would be great that John Williams could return for DH, he started it all with 'Hedwig's Theme'. I thought he did an excellent job as well. A lot better than GOF's Patrick Doyle. Hooper I think got the essence of what John Williams's is all about and that's why I think he's had the best adaptation so far. If Williams doesn't return Hooper would be an excellent choice. Quote:
I'm still wondering: WHO will be the director for DH... I guess one of the former directors or a completely surprising director (from other great movie making countries; India, Japan, France, Italy or Germany). I hope it's Guillermo del Toro, he did Pan's Labyrinth. I think this movie is very visual especially with all the locations, magic and Polyjuice potion involved. He's also good friends with Alfonso Cuarón, who did POA and I loved his style as well. So it's del Toro that has my vote!

| He did a fantastic job on the first three films. I don't have a favorite scorer though ... I just hope whoever is offered the job is the one who has the most passion and the best understanding of the story. |

I hope he gets back. Mr Hopper and Mr Doyle are great, but John Williams is, by far, the best composer around.

All others copied this theme, that's why he's the best to make the soundtrack for DH.

Agreed, about John.
But I've read that J.K. would like Speilberg to direct.
That would be amazing! |

That's great! All of the HP composers/conductors are my favorite of all time. They are so really, really good, and they put as much as effort and time into it. Wiliams did a wonderful job, and I'm really glad.

I liked it. I think it's nice to change things every now and then, to spice it up. Similarly with the directors.
Me too. I think it was more darker ( if you know what I mean ) but the usual theme was a bit childish.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Jenna Reetz | Oh my goodness! Seriously if he came back I would be soooo HAPPY!!! He is definately my favourite composer of the three and he would make Deathly Hallows soooooo amazing!!! OOooo I reallyyyy reallyyy reallyyy hope he does it because the soundtracks are part of what make the movies soo incredibly wicked and if he came back it would just be plain magical.
On a related note...why did he leave in the first place?

He was too busy to do Goblet of Fire (he was doing Star Wars) and then David Yates chose to use Nicholas Hooper because he wanted a composer who would work in the U.K., so they could better collaborate.
