BBC One announced that their Strike mystery miniseries based off of J.K. Rowling's crime novels, starting off with
The Cuckoo's Calling, will broadcast in the UK on Sunday, August 27.
The Cuckoo's Calling is the first of three books written by the
Harry Potter author under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, and will be shown on TV in three hour-long episodes. Presumably the other two episodes for
The Cuckoo's Calling will air in subsequent Sundays after, on September 3rd and 10th.
The Strike series will overall be seven episodes, starring Tom Burke in the title role alongside Holliday Grainger as his assistant Robin Ellacott. Two episodes will focus on the second book,
The Silkworm, and two more on
Career of Evil. No word yet on when those final four episodes will broadcast.
Do note that HBO has U.S. rights to air the entire series, but not has announced their broadcast dates yet.
