The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the 2018 list of invited members this year, and included a few familiar names - including
Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, who was nominated under, of course the writers' branch of the Academy (the same Academy that votes for the Oscars).
Actors branch additions include
Harry Potter actors Shirley Henderson (Moaning Myrtle) and Toby Jones (Dobby), and
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them actress Wunmi Mosaku:
- Shirley Henderson– “Meek’s Cutoff,” “Trainspotting”
- Toby Jones– “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy,” “Infamous”
- Wunmi Mosaku– “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them's designer Sue Quinn was also invited as an Academy member. The full list of the 928 new members can be found at AMPAS's
