J.K. Rowling currently "actively" considering Harry Potter series e-book conversion It is being reported that J.K. Rowling and her team are finally considering the official conversion of the Harry Potter books to a digital format, so fans of the series can read any or all of the seven installments via iPad and Kindle e-book. please DO IT! Come on guys think of all the people, Kindle/Nook/iPad owners who will be able to take part of Harry Potter now! |
the real book is the real deal for me... ebooks??/ pfffsssshhhh* |
Noooooo |
Cool!!! |
I prefer read books.... i´m not fan of the ebooks too but... yeah!! is a good idea.... |
Many people don't read paper, but many of them do read electronic formats. Sounds like a good idea. |
I think this would be a boon to the series. Go for it, JKR! |
I agree with many of you, I personally would prefer to read the actual Harry Potter books over e-books anyday. However, it is 100 million in sales plus a whole seperate branch in the reading market. Jo would be smart to do it! |
OMG OMG OMG this is MOST excellent!!!!!!!! Finally!!!! I hope it happens!!!! |
Please, please, please make them ebooks!! I was totally with JKR about how an ebook can never compare to a real book...until I got a Kindle. Love it. So much. And it kills me that I can't take the HP books with me on vacation. |

I'd rather have the actual books in my hand as well, but I guess it could be convenient. (Like waiting at the doctor's office for hours and pulling out a Kindle). :D |
I prefer books, my spare bedroom looks like a bleeding library, but I think this would be a smart idea for Jo to do! |
I like having the physical books; however if i travel anywhere it would be really convenient bring with me all 7 HP books on an iPad or iPhone. |
It could be a good idea, but could not be one too. Its so easy to download them free now a days. |
Hmmm...interesting. But nah, I'm old school. I don't plan on ever owning and iPad and I like me BOOKS so I'm cool with them not having them on my computer or anything. |
Oh,okay.. |
I love reading from an actual book, but if the ebooks came out I could read any of the HP on the go, instead of having to take the books with me. I'm pretty sure you can put ebooks on iPod touches like with iPads. They're practically the same thing? *hopes* |
I love the idea!! It would be so much more convenient to read her books on long flights without lugging around those HUGE books!! :) |
e-books will destroy reading as we know it ... NOooooooooooooooooooooo *cries*LOL Its just another format ... e-books will not take over real books anymore than fan forums have taken over human interaction. I say, "Do it and make more money". Unless you really don't like them and then ... well hold to your stance. I doubt very much she's loosing a large audience by not having her books be e-books. Yes lots of people read e-books, but of those people who would seriously buy her books? And how many of them didn't already read them in book form? The number is likely incrementally small as ipads and e-readers aren't half as common as phones ... I doubt there's such a large hold out of people who won't read her books just because they're not available in e-format. LOL Likely it'll be people wanting to get rid of their paper copies who just want e-copies ... and of those whose to say they don't already have copies from the internet? She should do it if she wants to but ... its just another format. Its like not having your books in audio format ... its really not that big a deal ... everyone else does it because it means more money for them. I think Jo should hold out just because it would be nice to be known for that ... being the only author not available as an e-book. |
I prefer reading the books but it would be cool to have all seven books on the kindle to take on trips :D Please go through with this :P |
