Summary:
J.K. Rowling at Number 42

Article:

J.K. Rowling at Number 42

J.K. Rowling is the 42nd most borrowed author in the UK, according to this article in the Mirror, which references the Public Lending Right list. Children's book author Jacqueline Wilson, who writes 'mainly tales for girls of 10 and older', is number one, with more than two million loans last year.

TLC have added this comment, humorously ;

Quote:
With no slight intended toward Ms. Wilson or any of the other wonderful authors who are borrowed from the world's libraries, TLC would assume that not many people borrow Harry Potter because not many people need to - the vast majority seem to own the series already (sometimes in more than one language).

I would also add that HP is never on the shelves in my local libraries as people take them and never bring them back!

Technically technical all the time Bookaholic

Yes, I agree with that last bit. People don't need to borrow Harry Potter because they already own them. And it doesn't surprise me that many people wouldn't return them to the library after reading them.

I agree with the last part. I mean why would you want to borrow it from a library if you can own it yourself?
