With just mere minutes left to the first public preview of part one the eighth story - after almost nine years since the release of
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - author J.K. Rowling asked fans this week to 'Keep the Secret' for
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
For those who want an idea of what Harry, Ron and Hermione might look and sound like on stage, feel free to watch actors Jamie Parker, Paul Thornley and Noma Dumezweni, dressed in character, opening up about their excitement to take on the stage production.
Finally, SnitchSeeker will discuss spoiler policies regarding
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child going forward, starting today, June 7, 2016.
While spoilers for
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, back in 2007, might have been a bit easier to avoid, with the advancement of social media and mobile technology in the last nine years, it's a lot easier and quicker for everyone to get information, moments after events take place.
The best policy is simply to avoid social media and the internet, really, because most media websites and blogs will be discussing spoilers for the play, and reviews will be released this coming week. It's inevitable. This may be pretty difficult to do until fans either get to see the plays in London, or until the rehearsal script book is out July 31, 2016.
SnitchSeeker will be reporting all information about
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child as it is released, and this includes reviews, plot spoilers, character reveals and more.
However, all of this will be placed behind cuts and marked with major spoiler tags and warnings, so readers will not unfortunately read information they want to avoid. Harry Potter fans should have the choice of learning information at their leisure, and not be forced to read it, or accidentally stumble upon it in a comment or thread. We will be very vigilant on social media, especially Facebook, where all comments and threads are monitored by the SnitchSeeker team. Any member of our Facebook page that leaves comment or post that contains any spoilers for the play - up until July 31st - will be banned indefinitely.
This policy will remain until July 31, when the rehearsal book is released. At that time, we feel that fans around the world will have had time to read the story and find out what happens in book eight without the worry of spoilers.
We hope all fans comply with the spoiler policy, and do try, as they possibly can, to 'Keep the Secrets.'
