J.K. Rowling addresses "Magic Beyond Words" unauthorised biopic movie for first time
J.K. Rowling, for the first time, addressed her thoughts on the very unauthorised biopic Magic Beyond Words: The J.K. Rowling Story, which aired on U.S. network Lifetime in 2011, starring Canadian actress Poppy Montgomery as the Harry Potter author.
The television film was not authorised by Rowling or anyone on her team, so naturally there were liberties taken with the author's story. The trailer can be viewed below, and the film itself, for those curious, can be watched on Netflix.
.@kk6991 I've never seen it, so I can't tell you how accurate it is. The thought of watching it makes me curl up like a pretzel.

This is so interesting, and also, weird. I must imagine that's weird for her. Is it just me or does Lifetime have a repeat history of making these controversial unauthorized biopics?

I watched this video last year and it makes me love her even more. I don't know how accurate it is, but it shows her as a hard worker, a truly Hufflepuff.
I do understand her when she says "the thought of watching it makes me curl up like a pretzel" and "But I was there when my life happened. Why would I want to watch somebody else's vague idea of what happened?" I'd feel the same if it were I.
