Imelda Staunton has stated several times that she will be playing Professor Umbridge in ' Order of the Phoenix'. This is still unconfirmed by WB; David Heyman stated they were in 'negotiations' a while ago. Once again she has spoken about the role, this time to TV Quick magazine. Quote:
Dolores is evil, ugly and toadlike. Hoorah! I'll be most shocked when they say, "We don't need any make-up, you're fine!" I'm a fan of the books. We've got them in our house, so now my kudos has gone up enormously. Life won't be worth living if I don't arrange for my daughter to visit the set!

She sounds so wonderful, and she's such a great actress. I'd die if I was on set, surrounded by all these greats. The films are really turning into a who's-who of British talent, even creating new stars! She wasn't my first choice for the part, but then, I've been desperately hoping that they'd somehow get Jo Brand into the films so far (would have put money on her for Olympe)
