Post HP fans willing to pay top dollar for Jo

Last week it was announced that J.K. Rowling would join fellow authors Stephen King and John Irving this summer for an onstage charity reading at Radio City Music Hall in New York. Tickets for the first three rows are being auctioned off and are reportedly drawing bids as high as $1,000 per ticket.
Quote:
"For me this was a unique opportunity to raise money for two great, important causes, read to American fans for the first time in six years and get to meet and read alongside Stephen King and John Irving,'' Rowling said in a statement issued by sponsor and publisher Scholastic Corp.
Each pair of tickets includes an autographed book from each author. The bidding ends tomorrow.

But don’t fret if you can’t afford to bid - general admission tickets range from $12.50 to $100 and, as of yesterday, seats are still available for both nights (August 1 and 2).

Quote:
"We wanted to be sure there were lots of affordable tickets for the fans,'' said Kyle Good, vice president of corporate communications for New York-based Scholastic. "The auction gives us an opportunity to raise even more money from the people who can afford it."

I would never blow that much on a ticket even if it were Brad Pitt at the reading!!
