| | Hollywood Reporter: OotP least enjoyable Potter film so far The Hollywood Reporter has what seems to be the second online review of Order of the Phoenix, in which the critic states that "while "Phoenix" is a necessary film, it's quite possibly the least enjoyable of the lot so far". Quote:
When the series is finally completed, "Phoenix" may go down as the problematic film, full of plot but little fun.
Quote:
There are any number of eye-catching moments here, some featuring otherworldy creatures, magic duels to the death, a clandestine though illicit wizardry school operated by Harry and rides through nighttime London skies. But the magic -- movie magic, that is -- is mostly missing in this outing.
The series also continues its shocking waste of talent. This includes why-bother appearances by the cream of British acting: Maggie Smith, Helena Bonham Carter, Emma Thompson, David Thewlis, Richard Griffiths, Julie Walters, Robbie Coltrane (who, to be fair, was well used in previous films) and Ralph Fiennes (who, also to be fair, will as Voldemort make his major contribution in future films).
Certainly all design, visual effects, cinematography, costumes and editing are up the series' state-of-the-art standards.
I can't help thinking that the critics are expecting Order of the Phoenix to be something it isn't. Either way, I completely disagree with them, but you'll hear more about that when I'm allowed to publish my review ![winking](https://www.snitchseeker.com/images/smilies/winking.gif) |

i think otherwise, i absolutely disagree! I wil not listen to those stupid critics. I hve not seen the movie yet, but the adds look very intense and suspenceful, and besides the HP books are getting mature!

| If anything, this critic has made me believe OotP will be the best film so far, because the critics are always completely wrong. |

I know I can't say anything bad or against this review, because it's not released yet and we haven't be able to watch it. But I'm pretty sure I'll be against it after I watch it. Because I totally think that this review is a pile of rubbish.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Jenna Reetz | Okay first of all the book doesn't have a lot of "fun" in the first place, I mean they are in war trying to defeat You-know-who for crying out loud! I mean people can't expect to go see a Harry Potter movie and laugh their pants off the whole time! (Even there are some pretty hilarious moments, well at least in the other movies, but don't take my word for it because I haven't seen it yet.) I mean I am prepared to go see the movie and be incredibly sad after watching it and that's okay. One of the funnest parts of the OOtP book was Quidditch and of course they had to take that out. Anyways I'm totally rambling and I have faith that all of us have our own opinions of the movie so I should have some respect to this critic, no matter how badly I don't want to.

I'll be waiting to make my own opinion on this. The trailers look simply fantastic, and from clips I've seen it looks amazing. They probably haven't read the book.. fans of the books will be more understanding of the plot and therefore find it more enjoyable.

It's a very complicated and dark plot, so you can't expect it to be funny.
It's an interesting story, especially because of all the hot political topics it deals with.

I never laughed that much as I was reading the book, so there couldn't have been much comedy in the movie. It's supposed to be dark and menacing. Voldemort comes to full power, everyone's against Harry, Arthur is attacked, and Sirius dies. What good do you get in that? These critics are bloody mental.

| Well, we will have to see for ourselves, wont we? Actually, I thought that PoA was fairly disappointing. But I keep my fingers crossed for this one, which looks amazing after seeing all the trailers! Critics are exactly what they are...critics |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Alicia Cranberry | Thats the second review which thinks OOTP is lacking movie magic. Hopefully i'll disagree with it after I see the movie. The TV Spots and Trailers look pretty cool to me - but thats just the effects.

Well, the movie has gotten much better reviews now. It's unfortunate that this was the first review out. It also wasn't a very well written one either.

Geez, this sounds like another reporter who has only seen the movies and NEVER touched the books. Why bother appearances? They're the teachers and the OotP, of course they need to be in it! True, they may not have very big parts, but come on, a school with no teachers? An order without order members?
