| | Hollywood Reporter: OotP least enjoyable Potter film so far The Hollywood Reporter has what seems to be the second online review of Order of the Phoenix, in which the critic states that "while "Phoenix" is a necessary film, it's quite possibly the least enjoyable of the lot so far". Quote:
When the series is finally completed, "Phoenix" may go down as the problematic film, full of plot but little fun.
Quote:
There are any number of eye-catching moments here, some featuring otherworldy creatures, magic duels to the death, a clandestine though illicit wizardry school operated by Harry and rides through nighttime London skies. But the magic -- movie magic, that is -- is mostly missing in this outing.
The series also continues its shocking waste of talent. This includes why-bother appearances by the cream of British acting: Maggie Smith, Helena Bonham Carter, Emma Thompson, David Thewlis, Richard Griffiths, Julie Walters, Robbie Coltrane (who, to be fair, was well used in previous films) and Ralph Fiennes (who, also to be fair, will as Voldemort make his major contribution in future films).
Certainly all design, visual effects, cinematography, costumes and editing are up the series' state-of-the-art standards.
I can't help thinking that the critics are expecting Order of the Phoenix to be something it isn't. Either way, I completely disagree with them, but you'll hear more about that when I'm allowed to publish my review |

Oh well, I will find out if I share that opinion on the 11th! I think the real magic stands in reading the book and seeing everything come to life, not just in humour and acting.

I dont know what to think. I was going to go last night and see the Black Curtain viewing, but me and my friend missed our train to get there. So it was too late. So I wouldn't know. But I bet I'll love OotP all the same...

The thing I hate about these critics is the fact that they just love to forget about the best things in the films >< *pokes them*

Gosh that review is really bad!!
I wonder what these reviewers are thinking!!
It must be the same people who reviewed Spider-Man 3 but I still enjoyed the movie!

Each critic has their own opinion and I don't put any stock into what they say. I make up my own mind, and although it is definately a darker movie than the others, those of us who read the books were at least prepared for it and expected it. From what I have seen so far, it looks to be a terrific movie! The performances of the great actors and actresses who have chosen to become a part of the Harry Potter series certainly have certainly not wasted their talents on any of the HP films so far and I doubt they will in this one either, even if the parts aren't big. They knew they wouldn't be going in and knew what the movie and the series was about! They are wonderful!

A Critic is a legless person Coaching running.
But I think it will be great and why didn't they say gary as part of that cream of the british crop although maybe this person feels that he wasn't wasted but I really generally don't trust critics at all.

*AVADA KEDAVRA! Hollywood Reporter dies* How dare they, I doubt they've read the books. They don't know what they're talking about. Grr...what'd they expect? Something like LotR or Mr. and Mrs. Smith? You can't grade it against movies like that, this is something special. Duh, it's not just another movie. *Kicks the author of the review* What a bunch of illiterate fools.

I don't think the person who wrote this critics took the time to even read the book before writting this absolute nonsense. I completely disagree with this critics, as I'm sure many people will not only Potter fans

BahHumBug. They're just jealous cause they can't A) Make amazing movies such as the Harry Potter films B) Can't write books like JK can. C) Act like Maggie, david, Emma, And so on. Totally jealous.
I mean, yeah, those who have read the books know the movies aren't the same as the books, but they try hard to do so, and the movies really do come out amazing!

But then I'm too close to the project (that being that I'm totally obsessed) so it could suck lollys and I'd still probably love it. Love is blind... xD
Well whatever, I can't wait to see the film. <3 |

| direct diva Everyone is expecting OOTP to be like the other Potter movies but it's not, the book wasn't like the other books, Harry spent most of the book SPEAKING IN CAPS TO EVERYONE BECAUSE HE'S HAVING A 800-SOMETHING PAGE LONG TANTRUM! This is not kids' stuff anymore, stupid critics. It's not cute little kids learning to ride broomsticks anymore, but what are you expecting, Casablanca????? Altho I do have to agree that the adult actors are seriously, SERIOUSLY being underutulized, especially Alan. I can only hope he gets his huge day in the sun when HBP begins filming. I wasn't sorted into Slytherin for nothing |

WHAT!? Mental, they are. I saw OotP yesterday--it was amazing. Beautifully done, I'd say. Best out of all of the HP films. Everyone said so. Oh, don't worry--the HP fans will get revenge for that. *AVADA KEDAVRA*
