The French cover art for ' Half-Blood Prince' was previously unveiled by the respective publishers. The original image was tiny however now we have a hi-res copy. It can be viewed here.

it definately doesn't have the soft feel that the US illustrator has. and it doesnt look like the illustrator um....spend a lot of time with it. like the background....i did an art project using that technique when i was in 3rd grade and it doesn't take that long to do.

I swear that last time I looked there (fnac-page), the pic was about the British children´s version. This one is completely different! They look themselves, though. I might like this one more than the German one ...
