Within 12 hours of the release date for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince being announced on the 21st of December as July the 16th 2005, the sixth novel in the Potter series had already become a bestseller through pre-orders of the book!
It is already a number 1 bestseller at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

i already pre-ordered..somehow i got signed up for something and i got this e-mailwith the release date so I went to amazon (i spend soo much money on that site!) and there it was so my dad pre-ordered it..it's was only like 18 bucks!

Well we're all such great fans!!!
I actually had to wait for the day after it was announced to order my copy - i swear i nearly gave myself an aneurysm or something!!!!!!!!!
I can't wait to have the book in my hands... I'll do what i did last time - sit and read, and read, and read! lol!

Does it really surprise any of us? 2005 is def. a HP year, between the book and movie coming out........I've never heard of a book becoming a bestseller before being released however, Guess that says something about our monies! hehe

Truely I'm not very surprised. HBP hits a wide audience, and is anticipated by a lot of people! Plus the third movie just came out on video.
My parents don't let me "pre-order" anything. So I guess I'm off to the library on the 16th in hopes of snagging a copy (exactly what I did for book 4 and 5, lol)
