Harry Potter fans around the UK celebrated Bloomsbury's annual Harry Potter Book Night on Thursday, taking part in games, activities, book readings and just all around fun and love for the series.
A few highlights from book shops, schools and libraries that hosted events can be seen here, starting off with actor Rohan Gotobed, who played young Sirius Black in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.
As part of the celebrations for Harry Potter Book Night: A Night of Spells, Bloomsbury Children’s Books launched the first official global search to find the world’s favourite spell from the Harry Potter books.
With over 2700 votes the Expecto patronum spell has taken first place followed closely by Accio in second place and Wingardium Leviosa in third.
One of the most famous and powerful spells, Expecto Patronum is key throughout the entire Harry Potter series of books. It first appears in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and is taught to Harry Potter by Professor Lupin.
The top ten favourite spells is below. Full of inventiveness and cunning, these famous magical incantations protect and challenge Harry and his friends in all sorts of ways.

The favourite spell vote was launched as part of the celebrations for Harry Potter Book Night. The second Harry Potter Book Night will be celebrated on Thursday 4th February 2016 with the theme of A Night of Spells.
