Summary:
Harry Potter audio book signed by Stephen Fry to be auctioned for charity

Article:

Thanks to Wizardnews

A whole host of celebrity memorabilia from the sublime to the ridiculous goes under the hammer at a charity auction near Axbridge tomorrow (Friday). People who attend the event at the Webbington Hotel, Loxton, will be able to bid for a magnum of champagne signed by the 1966 World Cup Team.

At the other end of the scale will be a signed picture and a pair of Y fronts from one of the nation's most notorious comedians, Bernard Manning.

For Harry Potter enthusiasts, there is a CD set of Harry Potter and the The Prisoner of Azkaban, with all CDs signed by the actor Stephen Fry, who narrates the story.

There will also be a chance to bid for two guest badges to Taunton Racecourse, donated by the veteran jockey Willie Carson, a Liverpool FC signed shirt and a Saracens family ticket to a home game plus two tickets to a Cardiff RFC home game.

Community fundraiser Jess Winchester said: "The champagne was donated by Hospicecare supporter Russell Starke from Titan Ladders.

"It is one of the 1966 bottles produced and signed by the whole team, apart from Bobby Moore.

"All of the bottles have been, or are being, auctioned for cancer charities because Bobby Moore died from cancer.

"This is a really special item not easy to get hold of now and we are delighted Russell gave it to us to auction for Hospicecare.

"We have had so many kind donations from stars and we are looking for a record number of ticket sales and bids so that we can raise more than £7,000 from the evening." Tickets cost £12 each. A buffet is available at an additional cost of £6 per person.

For further details and tickets please call Jess Winchester on (01934) 423923.

Funds collected will be used to help the charity, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this summer, with its work in the community caring for the seriously ill, predominately cancer patients.
