| | Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 - What did you think?
As the famous tagline says, 'It All Ends.' But not for die-hard Harry Potter fans.
The SnitchSeeker news team invites all members of the site, and fans from around the world, to partake in a discussion right here about the finale of the incredible Harry Potter saga, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, set to hit theatres on Friday, July 15, 2011, in most countries.
Several nations released the final film as early as Wednesday, so we again invite everyone to discuss their favourite parts of the final film, what they'll miss the most, what broke their hearts and made them laugh out loud. Come one and all, and celebrate the end of the Harry Potter film series right here.
Yes, spoilers are allowed in the comments, for those who have seen it. Members are allowed to ask one another questions about the finale, and the series as a whole if they so choose to. This is an open discussion on the finale, once again, and of course, all site and forums rules apply.
Everyone sitting and waiting for midnight shows tonight - have fun, and don't forget to bring some tissues! We hope you enjoy the movie; the news staff has seen the film, and will agree with Daniel Radcliffe when we say it is the best of the franchise by far.
So, without further ado... Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 - What did you think?!
One last note: rest assured that this is hardly the end of the Harry Potter fandom, and hardly the end of SnitchSeeker. It is indeed another chapter closed in the fandom (the first being four years ago with the release of the seventh book), but there is so much more to come. From Pottermore to Harry Potter: the Exhibition and the Harry Potter Leavesden Tours in the UK, Harry Potter will live on forever. We hope you stick with us for the entire ride. |

The book says her body "feebly stirred". Doesn't sound too healthy to me.

I JUST came home from the cinema (in Denmark) today, and i loved it! I loved the part, when Snape found Lily dead, it was so sad I kinda thought they ruined Harry's speech at the end, but i thought the "19 years later" bit was amazing! |

I thought the movie was done VERY well. It finished the series quite nicely and it was indeed a big tear-jerker for me. The only thing I hated was the epilogue. I really don't understand why they decided to make them look their age as apposed to having other actors that look like them only 20 years older. I'm curious to hear what their reason was for doing it this way. Other than that I thought the movie was great. The sound score was also amazing!
Bah! So after reading other people's posts I wanted to add to my recent post that I too, am quite depressed that this amazing series has finally come to a close. 10 years.. Just wow.. They said people were depressed after Avatar came out because there was no place like Pandora.. But oh geeze.. I'm sure MILLIONS of others are going to be/are more depressed now that Harry Potter is over and done with, this includes myself. Things just won't be the same without it! Part of me really wants J.K. Rowling to give in and continue the series lol! But in reality, all good things must come to an end, and if she were to continue, it just wouldn't be the same, but perhaps she'll come out with another series related to the world of Harry Potter.. Just not with Harry Potter in it

The last film was WAAAY better than Part 1 was. I think they spent way too much time in part one on long shots and less action. They left out stuff that'd of been neat to put in. I think they could have condensed that more and added a little from part 2 in there, then put MORE in the last film. Who cares if it was longer.... I am sure most of us would've been okay with that. After all, Peter Jackson did some VERY long LOTR films and I think most didn't mind at all.

I would've much preferred to see Harry and Voldie circling one another in the Great Hall, Harry being completely calm and cool, Voldemort getting angier and angrier, and have Harry defeat him surrounded by his friends and classmates when he triumphs.

It was great! It was so depressing at first since all endings are sad, but Jo proved that every closed doors have opened windows and every ending, there's beginning. And that's what Pottermore's all about.
Deathly Hallows film was perfectly crafted by David Yates and the characters are unbelievable especially my Neville Longbotoom. Haha!

I was rather confused about that myself, but I was SURE she didn't die in the book! Maybe I'm wrong! I swear I NEVER saw Parvati throughout the entire movie.. Maybe they just couldn't get the girl who played her.. Like with Crabbe.

All I know is that I want JK, or Yates, or Kloves to JUST COME OUT AND LET US KNOW already, is Lavender dead, or has she been turned???????

It was so much better than the first part. except...I was never fond of the epilogue. Also...it was pretty funny in the theatre when the screen when white, some guy in the back asked suspiciously "are we all dead?" hahah.

I cried much more than I think they intended. Alan Rickman was amazing, as was Matt Lewis! Two best performances!

Warning: Spoilers
First, thanks SnitchSeeker for the great thread
Now my thoughts on the film:
I thought it was brilliant,my favourite part was when Ron and Hermione finally got together, and the trio escaping from Gringotts on a dragon it was awesome ,i will miss the characters the most, especially Hermione as she has always been my favourite character and i nearly cried at the bit when Fred died and what made me laugh out loud was seeing them all 19 years later in the Epilogue,it was strange |

OH! All I can say is that.. it's really great! I was crying also inside the movie house when Fred died, and Lavender got sucked or eaten by Greyback, when Remus and Tonks died they didn't get the chance to see their son grow up. But my favorite scene there was when Ron and Hermione kissed in the chamber of secrets. It was like "Oh! We nearly died, We have to kiss right now coz you are the love of my life." haha

Very epic and I think that the pacing made up for the slow pace of Deathly Hallows: Part 1. I especially loved the scene where Remus and Tonks died holding hands after trying to do so when they were alive. CGI ageing at the end could have been better

I loved it. Every scene was breathtaking. I watched it for two times and I cried at every part I cried when I watched it for the first time. It's definitley one of the best Harry Potter films. I loved every part of the film.

[/B]Part that I laughed[/B]: Hermione: "Go? We can't! We have to plan!" (so Hermione) Harry: "When have any of our plans actually worked. We plan, we get in there, all hell breaks loose." Part that I cried thoroughly: I cried nearly 50% of the time. However the most heart wrenching line was when Hermione said: "I'll go with you." ( in reponse to Harry willingly going to the Dark Forest.) It really encompassed how much they've been through together. However, I wish Ron would have had more of a reaction. I guess he made up for it in his reaction to Fred dying. Part that was visually stunning: I like when the snake is coming at Ron & Hermione and then Neville slices it's head off with the sword. It's a great moment for Neville. And I of course liked how Voldemoret turned to ash. Part I wish they hadn't changed I wish they could have given us more of Dumbledore in King's Cross. I loved hearing in the book how Dumbledore came to be the person he is. And I thought the Voldemort fight was good, but maybe a bit too long. I don't know that it was believable that Voldemort let him escape so many times. But I guess that is Harry's willingness to die that is protecting him. (which reminds me that I wish they would have mentioned that Voldemort couldn't kill anyone because of that). Favorite small moment Hermione and Ron's giggle after their kiss. Soooo believeable. It was like "we've been really dumb not to do this sooner!" Favorite big moment: Snape's Tale. End of story. |

Regarding the Lavender thing and who it was that Padma & Trelawney were pulling the covers over. I've seen a picture of the body before it was covered, it was an older woman, so definitely NOT Parvati or Lavender. I just want a yes or no dagnabbit, how hard is that?

I have to say, Snape's story is a bit of a blur. The one thing I would change in the whole film is to spend a little time on that... it is so important to getting the underlying story, I would like to have spent a little more time on it. Snape deserves his justice :-J

(may contane a bit of a spoiler!)
^I totally agree! I was also thinking that! It seemes they only put about Harry's problem about Voldemort, and they didn't really explaine about Snape and Lily. They just made it out a bit that Snape loved her so much, like a long time friend that could be his sister.
My friend and I were talking about the film, and I realized they didn't do Voldemort's death right. Neville killed the snake, but Vodlemort should have not have vanished just like that, because he still had his own soul inside of him... unless I missunderstood and the spell he was using against Harry back fired.
I forgot! Also I think they could have showin Fred death! All they did was show his last living moment, and then next time you see him, he is dead!
Otherwise, I loved it! I cried threw nearly the whole thing! The end was amazing! It was so happy it got me to shead happy tears!
