| | Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 - What did you think?
As the famous tagline says, 'It All Ends.' But not for die-hard Harry Potter fans.
The SnitchSeeker news team invites all members of the site, and fans from around the world, to partake in a discussion right here about the finale of the incredible Harry Potter saga, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, set to hit theatres on Friday, July 15, 2011, in most countries.
Several nations released the final film as early as Wednesday, so we again invite everyone to discuss their favourite parts of the final film, what they'll miss the most, what broke their hearts and made them laugh out loud. Come one and all, and celebrate the end of the Harry Potter film series right here.
Yes, spoilers are allowed in the comments, for those who have seen it. Members are allowed to ask one another questions about the finale, and the series as a whole if they so choose to. This is an open discussion on the finale, once again, and of course, all site and forums rules apply.
Everyone sitting and waiting for midnight shows tonight - have fun, and don't forget to bring some tissues! We hope you enjoy the movie; the news staff has seen the film, and will agree with Daniel Radcliffe when we say it is the best of the franchise by far.
So, without further ado... Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 - What did you think?!
One last note: rest assured that this is hardly the end of the Harry Potter fandom, and hardly the end of SnitchSeeker. It is indeed another chapter closed in the fandom (the first being four years ago with the release of the seventh book), but there is so much more to come. From Pottermore to Harry Potter: the Exhibition and the Harry Potter Leavesden Tours in the UK, Harry Potter will live on forever. We hope you stick with us for the entire ride. |

I bawled my eyes out when Snape died and when Harry saw Snape's memories. Truly touching. And King's Cross Station helped put together the picture I had in my head while reading the book. That part was rather difficult to visualize. Altogether I think it was the best movie by far! It was put together so wonderfully. |

The movie was awesome but I spoiled myself with all the clips I watched beforehand! It's ok tho, I will see it again for sure! The Prince's tale is def one of the highlights but I was a little disappointed on how they brushed off Fred's death to a short clip...All in all it was amazing! (wish there were more R&H and H&G)but I do have to say that I enjoyed the epilogue very much! It was nice to have some peace after an hour long battle! <3 HP4L!

I have grown up with Harry Potter since I was 5 years old and now its seems like the chapter of my life called "childhood" has ended after seeing this film. I agree that it was the best film of the franchise and even though it was the shortest, it was brilliant. Some of my favourite parts were the Princes Tale which was done beautifully and made me cry like crazy and Harry's dual with Voldemort. By far everything was amazing. I can see that they really put their heart and soul into this film and it payed off. Even though the films are over, us fans with never let Harry Potter leave our hearts. I don't know about anyone else, but Harry Potter has changed my life

Alan Rickman literally blew me away and he is literally my acting idol. He definitely deserves an Oscar for his truly heart-breaking and spell-binding performance as the broken, dying Snape. Emma Watson showed a brave and slightly reckless side to Hermione. Rupert Grint again showed a braver Ron with those humourous moments we all love. Even Daniel Radcliffe, who is usually wooden and cringeworthy at best (from an acting point of view), was actually commendable and enjoyable to watch, showing great depth of emotion. "Not my daughter, you *****" was brilliant and I whooped and cheered, as did I for Neville killing Nagini. King's Cross and the Epilogue were pretty much word for word from the book and brilliantly portrayed.
I am slightly disappointed they left out Dumbledore's backstory but it didn't take *too* much away from the movie, just meant some parts were unclear. Ron and Hermione kissing; well I'll be honest, I wanted to see some more lip action, but only saw heads, which I've come to expect from the rubbish kisses in these movies (except Harry/Hermione in DH1). The beginning was slow because of the lack of action and David Yates' propensity to ruin scenes made mostly of dialogue and of little action. Everything is slow and softly spoken, and the lack of energy in these less tense scenes at the beginning, much like most of Part 1, is slightly tedious. Where Yates excels is in intense emotion and high action.
A brilliant end to the saga. All things considered, I'm pretty sure I couldn't've asked for a better conclusion to my childhood.

It still was such an amazing movie for the first time I'm happy with it.
Also did anyone else notice in the kings cross station Harry didn't have his glasses on?

Ok, um.....I can't even think of a good enough word to describe this movie. Epic is way too subtle. I'll admit I was a little nervous about this one, because I was hearing some things that I did not like. Totally wrong about all of them. This movie was just amazing. I loved every second of it! The title logo comes in fantastically. One thing I did notice is that the trio break into Gringotts almost immediately. It is a fast-paced movie, and I do wish they showed more Battle of Hogwarts scenes, but it's all done beautifully. Every actor in this film performs amazingly. I'll mention Dan, Ralph, and Alan. Dan really stepped up to the plate as Harry, he's wonderful. Ralph Fiennes gives a very scary, but very good portrayal of Voldemort. And lastly Alan Rickman is......I can't even describe his skill. He brought me to dreadful, blubbering tears(doesn't help that Snape is my fav character) and Alan portrays beautifully. Seeing the dead bodies in the Great Hall, let the waterworks run rampant. The Prince's Tale is so touching and emotional, and I believe it is done PERFECTLY! I loved every second of it, and it was alot longer than I expected it to be. Kings Cross is amazing, and the acting is spot on. Although, there is one problem *SPOILER,SPOILER* Dumbledore does not explain the reason Harry can return to the living, Harry just goes back, so....but I'm sure the majority of people know. The final battle between Harry and Voldemort is fantastic, and it was great fun to cheer and clap with the theatre once we all heard "NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU *****!" Bellatrix's and Voldemort's deaths are altered, but in a beautiful way. Lastly the Epilogue is Magical. This movie is truly a triumph, and while not better than the book, it is equally exhilirating. I recommend you bring tissues, you WILL cry!

So how was the camera angle? I want to prepare myself. Don't expect something good. As katiebell said, all you see is back of Ron's head. They couldn't have done it worse. I was so dissapointed, literally. Thank you David Yates for ruining the most anticipated kiss of all time.

The film was infinitely better than the book, or at least, the second half of it.
They really made a great character out of Voldemort, who had at least twice the amount of lines he has in the book. The scene where he hugs Draco, and his laughter, and the way he cries when he dies, and the way he reacts when his Horcruxes are destroyed -- they made a better portrayal of him than Jo.
Snape cradling Lily's body made me cry a bit, especially with "Dumbledore's Farewell" playing in the background. And his "You have your mother's eyes..."
There's really one thing that irked me: why TF does Bellatrix explode? She had no horcruxes, and she was a normal human being by anatomical standards.
And also, is that Alecto who kills Fred? Was he laughing at her when she killed him?

I really liked that Molly blew up Bellatrix!

Hogwarts RPG Name: Evie Mane Third Year | I would have to say>> The best out of all of them!!! The midnight screening atmosphere was amazing soo many crazy fans in one place!!! THE BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE
I had tissues in one hand and my best friend and fellow obsessors hand in the other!! We laughed and cried and in the final scene (19 Years Later) I couldn't wipe the goofy, deliriously happy smile off my face!!!
Seeing everyone older and waving their kids goodbye was too much and I broke down in tears of joy and sadness!!!
The scene with Snape holding a dead Lily made me sob voilently and not to mention the Wealsey's crying over Fred's dead body!!! ='(
Overall it was epically epic, everything that, us as true fans, were hoping for plus more!!! |

I'm just going to see it next week, I hate crowds and the usual madness from the first days I can't wait to see the Prince's Tale, especially after reading how you guys described it. But I also have a question. I'm a huge McGonagall fan, and I was curious if she got enough scenes in the film? Also, is the part where she screams upon seeing Harry 'dead' included in the film? How about the 'We duel to kill, Horace' part? Thank you to anyone who can answer.

Second Year | The movie was absolutely EPIC, BREATHTAKING, AWESOME! I mean i can't find the right words to describe it.
The acting is sooo good, especially Alan Rickman's. In the prince's tale, he was absolutely mind-blowing. It gave me tears. Ralph Fiennes gives a scary, creepy portrayal. Helena Bohnam Carter, Julie Walters,Maggie Smith, Evanna, Matt, Tom... They were all amazing. As for the trio; Rupert was awesome and hilarious as always, Emma also did a wonderful job. She did an amazing job portraying Hermione, especially in the last 2 films. And Dan, well, i normally find his acting a bit wooden, but he was absolutely amazing this time. I mean, literally.
- I loved the Hogwarts battle. It was really fun and also heartbreaking. Seeing everything getting blown up, you know, it was very sad.
- The music was incredible. It was very touching.
- The fight between Voldemort and Harry was absolutely EPIC! It was different than the book but still epic. I loved it.
- The Gringotts scene was sooooooooo good! Just like how i imagined and how it is in the book.
- The epiloge was one of my favorites. It was just so magical, so sweet, so amazing. It was a great way to end the movie. Made me cry!
There were dissapointments as well:
- I wish they included Dumbledore's story 'cause it was a really important part of the book.
- Fred's death was left aside. I mean, yes, it was touching and it me made cry but i was still dissapointed with it!
- And the kiss... It was messed up, i must say. All we see is back of Rupert's head. I mean, we wait all this time and get this? What a big dissapointment...
Well overall, i loved the film. I think it was the best Harry Potter film out of the whole series. It was loyal to the book most importantly. I am so glad that they didn't ruin the final film. Thank you everybody for making this film so faithful to the book and so amazing. It was a hell of an ending.
Harry Potter will live on forever. It will never end...

The Ron/Hermione kiss didn't bother me, as I'm more of a Harry/Hermione shipper even in the face of incontrovertible evidence to the otherwise xD

Once the Warner Bros sign came up I was in tears. I knew that I'd be saying goodbye that night at midnight. I thoroughly enjoyed the film. My favourite scene had to be The Prince's Tale, Alan's acting was phenomenal and Lily and Severus were adorable. When Hermione and Ron were saying goodbye to Harry before her entered the Forbidden Forest, I was in tears again, it really was an emotional scene. Snape's and Lavender's deaths were the most brutal and I was bawling for those two, their deaths were so sad. If there was on thing I can critic, it would be how they rushed the deaths of Lupin, Tonks and Fred, you didn't get to see how they died and the reactions. However, it was an amazing film that wraps up this beautiful story in perfect style.

Urgh, after reading some of these reviews, I really feel bad for being too critical on this movie. I felt that some of the action dragged on too long, and there were lots of minor details that I got annoyed with. Besides that, here are some of the good things:
- All of the cast were at their best performance. Seeing Helena playing as Hermione disguised as Bellatrix was especially funny. Matt Lewis brought some light-hearted humor out of Neville. And Alan Rickman...what can I say, he's the best Snape ever!
- King's Cross was actually pretty good. It looked so serene while Dumbledore and Harry were talking.
- Loved the Ariana moving in her portrait thing and the passageway. It was done beautifully.
- The epilogue! I enjoyed that part the most! Even though it was pretty short, I couldn't imagine it any other way. All the kids were cute! Emma and Ginny looked gorgeous, and Rupert's belly just had me laughing. Dan was especially awesome in that scene; I wouldn't be surprised if his own kids said he would be a great father! (Not to mention they played some of John Williams' pieces too...including Leaving Hogwarts! )
Even though it's not one of my favorite HP films, it was certainly epic! I hope it even gets a Oscar nomination next year!

Wow! This film was definitely the best of the series. Alan Rickman as Snape gave an utterly brilliant performance as usual. Please, give the man an award this time! |
