Today -
Wednesday, September 19th, we're celebrating the 39th birthday of Hermione Granger, the cleverest Muggle-born to attend Hogwarts. After completing her seventh year of Hogwarts studies, she progressed into the Ministry of Magic, in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures... and beyond, but that would be spoiling the secrets of
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
Before transferring to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, she greatly improved the treatment of House Elves, and later worked towards abolishing pro-pureblood laws. Let's not forget her personal life - she married Ron Weasley and had two children, Hugo and Rose Granger-Weasley!
Also, this little tidbit from J.K. Rowling this week regarding Hermione's name's pronunciation (which she did confirm years ago but reiterated once again).
Happy Birthday Hermione!
Hermione was portrayed by
Emma Watson in the Harry Potter films, and Noma Dumezweni and Rakie Ayola in
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
