Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is on the 82nd annual Academy Awards'
short list for Achievement in Visual Effects, going against such titles as
Sherlock Holmes,
Watchmen,
Where the Wild Things Are, and many more.
The list will be narrowed down to seven on Thursday, January 21 after the Visual Effects Branch previews 15-minute segments for each film featured on the long list. After the seven have been chosen, the list will be further truncated to the final three actually picked for the best VFX Oscar category on Tuesday, February 2, 2010.
We will have much more on that, so stay tuned.
Thanks to Andrew for the tip!
