All three characters will together have to face off against the evil Death Eaters and other dangers of Lord Voldemort, while also taking on the challenges of the Triwizard event. The game makes use of the three-party system instead of having Harry just wander around and magic away evil on his own, as each character's skills and combined abilities will be needed for the fights ahead.

The PSP edition available for a try on the E3 show floor begun at the raid on the Quidditch World Cup campsite, as evil creatures set fire and wreak havoc on the camp. Harry and his two friends, dressed down in casual outfits instead of the Hogwarts wizard uniforms, can combo their spells together as they fight through the enemies and obstacles in their path.

Gameplay is seen from a raised and wandering 3rd person perspective, playing somewhat similar to EA's Lord of the Rings, but with less intense combat and more emphasis on specific challenges rather than melee monster killing.

When the characters come together at a fiery roadblock, for example, they must all join their spells together to move it. EA has added a gameplay mechanic to these encounters, where you are fighting the controls to stay in charge of your spell and get past the barrier.

The view of the camp in this demo is beautiful and full of effects. The raised perspective gives you a wide-ranging view of the camp as it erupts in flames, with impressive draw distance and detail in the background as well as a realistically rendered forest area where the play takes place. Impressive magic effects light up the screen with nice particle and glow effects.
