i like it but i thought it would be shorter her hair...

yeh i thought her hair would be shorter too. she looks different to how i imagined. i thought she would look slightly eccentric like an older luna lovegood but maybe thats just me. :P

You guys...Tonks can change the way she looks in the blink of an eye...maybe her hair is purple for 1 scene. I can't image they would put her in purple hair for the entire movie. That would be stupid!

Kidding kidding... I agree with the short thing. The purple is awesome though. And remember, her hair is going to change (most likely) throughout the movie. So maybe it will get shorter for a scene or two. <o:p></o:p>

Natalia Tena is perfect as Tonks! Although, I hope they have it when Tonks changes her hair to bubblegum pink soon, 'cause the purple clashes with Natalia's skin tone.

I thought the hair was shorter and pink. It's sad because when I first saw a picture of the actress (and saw her in About a Boy) I thought she was really fit for the part. The punk-ish look, the short hair. That just looks like a bad wig. It reminds me of the witch costumes for Halloween. :(

I do agree about the hair with everyone. She looks good though I am not sure how i amagined her costume, but I am not really sure I like it. Though I am sure that when I see it in the movie i will love it.

i think they did an ok job with tonks. i personally pictured her as a more playful person. she looks really edgy and like fierce. not really what i had in mind. i hope now that i have seen the picture i don't think she looksl ike that when i readthe books. now when ir ead them i picture dan and rupert and emma. its really horrible if you ask me. i can't even remember what i thought they used to look like.

Rupert should be on the cast of Grey's Anatomy, no seriously hear me out ... LOL

Well it's not as if she has one fixed hairstyle. It'd be boring if all her cuts were short. She's a metamorphamagi; I'm sure she can alter the length as well as the colour.

hem hem Tonks is obviously not an auror of the Right Sort since she sides with Dumbledore in alarming people with fibs about reborn dark wizards. The Dark Lord and I will permanently scar her and after forcing her to survey her wrecked visage, subject her to the Cruciatus curse so that she cracks!

I expected a brighter purple, it's seems too dull and too long... I always pictured Tonks to have bright pink, short spikey hair.

I figured it was something other than the first scene they were filming since it wasn't short and pink. She's a metamorphmagi, afterall which I think most of the commenters seem to have forgotten. Just because it's short and pink at one point in the story, doesn't mean it stays that way and JK made sure to remind us of this.

These are the only sensible comments that've been posted ^^^ [Along with the ever graceful Kris]. Tonks is a METAMORPHAMAGI, her hair changes constantly. Just because the US artist chose to depict her with short pink hair doesn't mean it's always like that. JKR goes to great lengths to describe how Tonks CONSTANTLY changes her apparance.

I'm beginning to wonder whether any of you read OotP. Maybe a re-read is in order...[no pun intended]...

I'd really like to know where it states that her hair is short because I could've sworn that she changes it multiple times throughout the novel.

Natalia is only 22. If auror training takes a few years, then she's spot on for Tonk's age.

I like the hair! Though that shade of purple isn't my fav. :P But I'd like to see her go from short hair to really long hair and back. It would totally confused all the peeps who haven't read teh books.

I realize that she changes hairstyles throughout the novel, it's just that the trademark short pink hair is the first image that comes to mind when I think of Tonks. I wonder though how many hair changes she'd get for the film...I want to see the 'old lady' disguise she changes into when she escorts Harry and Co. back to school.

I remember Natalia from "About a Boy"...haven't seen any recent films/pics of her so I guess I'm still thinking about how young she looked in that film.

Thing is, that trademark is established partly by the illustrations (which aren't the same globally) and partly by fanon. I'd understand the fuss, except it's prefectly acceptable for her to have varying styles. Whereas, in contrast, Harry looks vastly different in the films, from canon, and yet no-one causes a stink about that. It's funny in the ironic sense.

Tonks doesn't have a set hairstyle, period.

Yeah, I imagined it to be a lot like Madam Hooch's haircut, but pink. Still it's nice to see Natalie Tena dressed up as Tonks and she looks pretty.

I like the color, but I, like so many here, pictured it shorter than it is. But, I LOVE the look! She looks perfect young, like she's a new Auror. I think her outfit is absolutely on the dot. I think she has the perfect look for Tonks, and I can't wait!

And I actually agree with Emma. I'm actually more annoyed with Harry's hairstyle rather than Tonks's simply because though Dan has gone for the long hairstyle, they've never given him the trademark, uncontrollable, messy hair that Harry's had in the books since day 1. I think though we all have had it set in our minds, I think it's a great look, and it's suitable since she's a Metamorphagus anyway. Plus, you never know: She may end up having a short, pink hairdo somewhere in the film!

I don't know why some people don't like it. whats not to like? The hair is a little OTT,
but since when has the movie characters been exactly the book characters, (aka harry, aunt petunia, dudley etc) and the costume is absolutely brilliant. Totally Tonks.
