Post 'Fantastic Beasts & Where to Film Them' film script is funny, vivid, exciting: Heyman

David Heyman gave yet a few more tidbits about J.K. Rowling's screenplay for the first installment of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, calling it funny, vivid and exciting, in a recent interview with IGN. The producer, who will of course head the Fantastic Beasts series, also commented on why he believed Rowling never write the scripts for the Harry Potter series from her books, and even teased on what kind of Fantastic Beasts may be seen on screen.

Quote:
“Because Jo Rowling has written a script that’s sublime” he explained. “It’s funny, it’s vivid, it’s exciting. It’s filled with all the hallmarks of her incredible imagination.”

As for why Rowling is writing the film having never scripted a previous Potter feature, Heyman said “I don’t know – ask her. She wrote the books on those so she probably didn’t feel the need. With this there was a slim volume which is more like an Encyclopedia than it is anything else... so she decided to write the script and she’s done a brilliant job. “

Finally, we asked Heyman to pick his favourite Fantastic Beast: “I like the Niffler” he explained. “Actually I like an awful lot of them. I don’t think there will be room in the film for all of them but we’ll find room for a few.”

"Funny, vivid, and exciting" is definitely better than "Dark, dreary, and dull".

We Harry Potter geeks are very excited for this movie - maybe even more than with any other Harry Potter movie - partly because there is no book. What creatures will we see, and what new villain will Newt be fighting? We will go into the theater without worrying if the director (and it looks like it's going to be David Yates) cut out our favorite parts. EXPECTO PATRONUM!!!!

I like the Niffler creatures too! They seem soo cute and I really want one! I can't wait to see this movie actually, even though it will be a harry potter spin off it may have potential to be something new .
