Post Emma Watson talks end of Harry Potter & contribution to fashion in Remix magazine

Emma Watson discussed life after the Harry Potter series, why she chose to cut her hair back in August 2010, and the realisation of being an influential fashion icon for millions of fans around the world in the latest issue of Remix magazine. Scans and the interview can be found in our galleries.

"Obviously there's sadness - there were a few tears on the last day - but there's also a great sense of relief because playing Hermione has been such a big responsibility," she admits. "Now it's over, it feels like a massive weight has been lifted off me! It's such a relief that I can just be myself - be Emma - again."

'That's why I cut my hair," she reveals. "I'd spend more than half my life being somebody else - with their hairstyle - and I wanted to be Emma and have my hair the way I wanted it. I didn't realise it, at the time, but it was actually incredibly symbolic having all this hair cut off that people so identified with Hermione. It felt great - it was very liberating - like I was shedding that old skin and starting a fresh, new chapter!"

"You know, I'm only 20, so I have no idea what I want [to do] with the rest of my life, or even what I will be doing in say ten years' time. I do have my dreams - a vision of what I'd like my life to look like - but who knows if that will happen.

"It's funny, because a lot of my friends are now gearing up to get a job and really push on with their career but I'm at a point now where I need to just stop, have a break, and take it easy for a bit. I'm very excited by that, and the prospect of just having some normality in my life.

"The problem though is that I'm a workaholic," adds Emma, laughing. "I'm hugely motivated and determined, so you've not seen the end of me, just yet! I'm always going to work hard and always want to act. But I'm also going to try and make sure that I have a bit of fun as well!"
The full article can be read under the cut.

R&R is perfect for her right now. She owes it to herself. She's a smart girl and knows what she wants.
I do, also, wish that they would ask her other questions. I mean, I would like to know what her favorite place of vacation is, where she wants to live if not where she is now, what she liked to do on the set of HP, her favorite memory with Dan and Rupert, and what was the hardest thing to memorize while filming. Stuff like that.

I'm sad it's going to be all over to, but I don't think she should have left school...just my thoughts.

I love how she's even more motivated by the end of Potter. I really want to see her in new fields and doing new things! She's a great person.

But putting out these constant interviews (in my opinion) is almost like keeping her from doing just that. She wants to move on, but with all these magazines coming out talking about her moving on, it's just kind of a constant reminder that not only is Harry Potter over *tear* but that she was in them. I know Emma will always be remembered as Hermione, but am I the only one that feels some unnecessary repetition is going on here?
AGREE WITH EVERYTHING HERE. She cut her hair LAST AUGUST. That's an awfully long time ago. It's like, big whoop, she's got short are. Props to her for doing it and all that but get over it now.

I'm more of a Potter fan than simply a Emma Watson fan. It's just a wonderful franchise and story. I agree with you Amortentia. The interviewers need to move on and so does Emma.
