Emma Watson considered for Shark Attack role In an article by Time, Emma Watson is stated as being considered for the lead role in a film based on the story of Bethany Hamilton, a now 16 year old, homeschooled entrepreneur, who was attacked by a shark in Hawaii while surfing in 2003. Hamilton lost her arm in the attack. The movie is based on Hamilton's autobiography, Soul Surfer. Emma has not been set in the role. As of right now, she's only being considered. Other candidates for the role include Jamie Lynn Spears. Filming is set to begin in the fall, which would clash with filming for 'Order of the Phoenix' which isn't due to end until October/November. |
There's only one problem she still has both her arms! I suppose they will use CGI to bock it out though. Good luck Emma! |
They could just use Bethany Hamilton herself...I think Jamie looks more like Bethany...still, good luck to Emma! |
hmmm I am all for emma |
It would be interesting to see Emma without her british accent. I have a friend who knows Bethany and has surfed with her. Anyway i can kinda see Jamie in that role more, but thatd be cool if Emma got it. Hopefully they go with a 'famous' actress rather than an unknown |

ooh! i really hope emma gets the part! she would be brlliant!!!! :D GOOD LUCK EMMA!!!!! |
That'd be interesting ... good luck, Emma! |
That seem interesting. What's the name of the film? Any clues? |
rather choose Jamie....though... |
I think she'd do a great job if she got the part. But what if it does get in the way of OOTP. Well i wish her the best of luck on it. |

i want to watch the movie sounds sad though but i still want to watch it :hermy: :hermy2: |
Hmm...I'm thinking Emma would be better for the part. Just because she can act better than Jamie. (I've seen Zoey 101 and....uh....yeah) :woot: For Emma! That's awesome and I hope she gets the role. *crosses her fingers* |
^ yeah.. Emma's a batter actress than Jamie. But, I dunno... I somehow dont want Emma to do it. But if she did get chosen for the role, then I'll support her. |
that's great for Emma!! It's about time she does another film besides HP..I mean Dan and Rupert both have. I really hope she gets the role..she a much better actress than Jamie and it'd be soo cool to see her with an american accent!! she'd do a great job. I don't think it'd interfere with OOTP, because that ends shooting in the fall, so perhaps this starts shooting late fall after OOTP is finished..she wouldn't let anything get in the way of that. Good luck Emma, we know you can do it!! :) |
Well, at least it's not the Pink Ranger. Good luck to her. I'm sure she'll do an excellent job :) |
So far. Emma has been the only one of the trio that has not made another movie and I think that, for her career, it would probably be an excellent move. I hope she gets the part and I would love to see her in other roles. If Dan and Rupert could find time to do it without affecting the HP movies, so can she. |
I hope she gets the part! |
Yes I just read this, hmm sounds interesting. |
OOH!! I hope Emma gets it, but she doesn't really look like Bethany...ah well. that's where hair dye and extensions come in.... |
I remember reading about this back in June. Quote:

i think that i would rather see emma get the role only because i really don't like jamie lynn spears, but i dont think that i could see emma in that role .... |
good luck to her if she gets the part. She's a good actress and deserves another movie to be in! So again, Good Luck!!!! |
