Harry Potter actress Emma Watson actually commented on a rumour that had been making its way through the internet - that she would be starring in Fifty Shades of Grey film series, based on the trilogy of erotic novels by EL James. 
Emma told Entertainment Weekly recently: Quote:
“I haven’t read the book, I haven’t a read a script, nothing,” Watson tells EW.
“There are so many movies you become attached to when I’ve literally never even received a phone call. It was the same way with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo – I never even saw a script!”
On her friends and family asking about the rumour: “I told them just because there are 60 articles on the Internet doesn’t mean it’s any less true than if there are three or four.”
“The thing is I’m not going to go out there every time someone attaches me to a film to say no or release a statement.”
Emma is currently filming an adaptation of Noah with director Darren Aronofsky, and actors Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Anthony Hopkins, Douglas Booth, and her The Perks of Being a Wallflower costar Logan Lerman. The film is scheduled for a March 2014 release.  | |

She's an adult and she has the decision to take whatever role she wants to. Just because Hermione was her debut movie role, doesn't mean she should be stereotyped to play common roles for the rest of her career. I feel like there are a lot of negative comments thrown around about this rumour. It's not real, only a movie, not as if she indulges in the same activities herself. She's in her early 20's, very much an independent adult in my eyes!

The reason I don't want her to be in that movie is because it's basically a Twilight fan fiction with the names changed so the author could make money off of it. I have no issues involved with her being in a movie with nudity and sex, but I would be horrified for her to do something associated with Twilight.

If this story was anything BUT a fan fiction (particularly a Twilight fanfiction, simply because romance and intimacy plays a big part in Twilight), then it would have been a bit more acceptable for someone like Emma to be in it.

I'm not on the up-and-up when it comes to 50 Shades of Grey - I only know the bare minimum of what it's about. I think Emma could have been in it, if she wanted to - but it's her choice. I'm glad for her, she cleared up the rumors - a little shocked however that the hype got so ginormous she had to clear them up.

Im disappointed to say that I have read the Fifty Shades Trilogy. Im indifferent on whether or not Emma should play the role of Anastasia. Could she do it? Yes. Would it be right for her? Particularly no. I don' think shes quite right for the role and I frankly couldn't see her in it but she is an adult and able to make her own decisions.

Meh. I haven't read the series but I think she's too good an actress to be in something as campy as 50 Shades of Grey would turn out to be. It's like the same if they were to cast someone like Rupert Grint as Christian Grey. With any HP actors in it, it'd just be 50 Shades of Awkward.

If Emma were to have taken on this role, yeah I do say I would have been shocked and disappointed-not because mainly of the subject matter but the crap writing itself. I stupidly read some of the book and now am asking myself why did I waste 5 minutes of my life? LOL But the bottom line is Emma is a big girl, a grown woman who make her own decisions.
Btw I admire Emma for saying that she wont waste time releasing statements or saying no-good for her-it is not worth her time or energy. Let the media print what they want. Chances are it is not the truth anyway!
