Harry Potter actors Emma Watson and Tom Felton, as previously announced, hit the red carpet for the 2011 MTV Movie Awards, which will air live on the network at 9pm EST/8pm EST. Photos of Emma, in a short, white Marchesa cocktail dress, and Tom, can be found in our galleries.
Emma will present a new clip from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II as part of a montage of the Harry Potter film franchise. We will have the footage as soon as they're online, as well as if Tom, Emma, and Deathly Hallows: Part I win their awards. UPDATE: The first two awards have been given out: while Daniel Radcliffe lost out to former Harry Potter costar Robert Pattinson in the best actor category, Tom Felton won the Best Villain award for Deathly Hallows: Part I. 
We will have a brand-new post for the new Deathly Hallows: Part II clip, to be presented by Emma Watson in a matter of minutes. | |

Umm... did the voters actually see the movie? Draco's barely in DH pt1, and the time he's in, he's mostly just a quivering mass of body, scared out of his mind. Not exactly an intimidating villain.
If this was for HBP, I could sorta understand. But this is MTV after all... | |

Um. I love Tom and all, but he was barely in DH-1, and when he was, he wasn't particularly evil -- more just conflicted and scared.
It's just a little weird that that is the only award HP won. I know that we HP fans tend to dismiss the MTV awards, but I wonder if it gives the HP filmmakers any pause when they get so thoroughly swept by a film like Twilight in a large-scale popularity contest like that? Maybe it should.

Unless, you know how like even the Oscars sometimes, a long time actor will win a Best Actor when everyone in town knows this particular performance wasn't anything special, but he's (winkwink) really winning it for the body of work over the years. I wonder if Felton winning this was more of a nod to his whole decade of playing Draco. Because yea, again, anyone who's seen DH Part 1 knows he's not even remotely a "villain" in this, much less a scary/significant one.

I could buy the "body of work" argument if Tom had not just won the exact same award LAST YEAR -- when he actually deserved it for HBP.
