| | |  Elphias Doge cast for Deathly Hallows
British actor David Ryall ( Around the World in 80 Days, City of Ember), according to his agency, has been confirmed to play Elphias Doge, life-long friend of Albus Dumbledore, in Deathly Hallows. Doge notably wrote Dumbledore's obituary in the Daily Prophet, and discussed the late Hogwarts headmaster's dubious history with Harry and Molly Weasley's great Auntie Muriel at Bill and Fleur's wedding (scenes from which were filmed last month).

Oooh! I think I like this. Just based on looks, I kind of imagined Elphias to be sort of frazzled, old...and look just slightly crazy. Maybe a bit more mousy, but overall (again, I'm basing this solely on looks because my knowledge of international actors = zero), I am in favor of this decision.  |

Great news. I'm sure he will do his part justice. This probably means that Harry will meet Doge somewhere else instead of the wedding (since it's already filmed). Either way I'm still happy that they are keeping all the character in DH. The more detail the closer it will get to the book.

He looks so familiar but he's not what I expected and not what I pictured him as but I'm sure he'll do a great job and the HP cast directors couldn't find the perfect cast if it got up and bit them in  the first couple of films they were really good but after GoF I don't know ... but that's just my op.
I could have totally seen Ben Stiller as Barty Crouch.
