Eddie Redmayne has
lined up his first project after the completion of the first
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie earlier this year - an animated film called '
Early Man', for which he will lend his voice of lead character Dug.
Quote:
"Not only is Eddie a joy to work with, his versatility and boundless energy have really helped to bring my new character to life," said [director Nick Park]. "He embodies the cheeky charm, fun and plucky wit of Dug, and I’m sure he’ll get along brilliantly with Dug’s sidekick Hognob.”
Set at the dawn of time, when prehistoric creatures and woolly mammoths roamed the earth, Early Man tells the story of Dug, along with sidekick Hognob, unites his tribe against the mighty Bronze Age in a battle to beat them at their own game.
Redmayne, who of course leads the
Fantastic Beasts' series as magizoologist Newt Scamander, said during this year's Academy Awards that he would take a break from acting leading up to the June birth of his first child, though it seems he has changed his mind for a bit.
The Oscar-winning actor currently has no acting gigs confirmed between
Early Man and the the second
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film, out in November 2018.
Early Man is also slated for a 2018 theatrical release.
