It seems that when Harry gave Dobby the sock in Chamber of Secrets, he helped Dobby out of the series altogether! MTV.com reports that Dobby the House Elf will not be seen in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
Toby Jones, the actor who voiced Dobby in CoS gives his opinion on why the part of Dobby was cut :

"I know that the filmmakers have a problem with each new film because the books are getting longer — there's so much to include in them,"
The article also says that Kreacher will be in the film, and notes the possible role of the house elf in the mysterious dissapearance of the locket at Number 12, Grimmauld Place.

Thats totally sweet, Im sad they arent using Dobby, but then again, it would have been completely stupid if the ousted Kreecher so Its all cool, what do we expect from the movies anymore anyway?

That is too bad that Dobby is not going to in the movie again I really loved Dobby better than Kreacher the little sneak. I was hoping to see Dobby in this movie as he is working for Dumbledore in the fifth book. But I guess I will have to accept the fact that he will not appear until the sixth movie comes out and I really hope that Dobby isn't done making the rest of the films.

I'm glad to know that at least one elf will be in this film, considering the last had none. I do hope that Dobby makes at least one more appearance in the films, it'd be sad if he wasn't. | |

I'm not a big house elf fan and didn't really miss them in GoF. But this doesn't look good for Dobby being in the lasy few films 
Poor Dobby...I mean how much screen time is Dobby going to take up anyway? Why not put him in when Kreacher will be featured? They can't be cutting that much out of the flim by not putting him in...
It will interesting to see how the movie directors work around this one. Dobby is the one in OoTP to tell him about the Room of Requirment.
I guess we have to wait and see when the movie comes out how things will go down... Only 275 days to go...but who's counting, LOL
