The Daily Mail is reporting that
Deathly Hallows, the last film in the Harry Potter series, will be split into two halves. Fans will remember that such a rumour has circulated before concerning
Goblet of Fire. The reason given is artistic rather than financial, considering the size of the final novel.

A film source said: "There's so much to fit that the view is the last movie should be in two halves. There is a huge battle when Harry, played by Daniel Radcliffe, takes on Voldemort that needs to be done really well."

At Warner Bros, who are rumoured to be thinking of Oscars and a big-name director such as Steven Spielberg for the final film, a spokesman said:
"People are discussing all possibilities."
Steven Spielberg had previously considered directing
Philosopher's Stone, but later declined. As many fans will know, several names have been linked to the last film, including but not limited to; Chris Columbus, Alfonso Cuaron, David Yates and Guillermo Del Toro.
Whilst it's not entirely impossible that Steve Kloves might be working on the seventh movie script already, the production team are only about halfway through filming
Half-Blood Prince. A script normally needs to be completed prior to the choosing of a director.
For now, treat this as a rumour. We will contact W.B. for further comment and verification.
