French movie site Allocine has listed Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II to be released May 1, 2011. It is unclear if this release date is only for France, or if it is the slated date for any other countries, including the US and UK. Please regard this as a rumour, especially since the first of May falls on a Sunday, until we hear confirmation from Warner Bros.

The reason it is coming out so late is because of the writers strike they haven't even started writing the script so that is still to be done. This is what we have been told here in England.
Part I is slated for release on November 19, 2010, and Part II in May 2011.

yeah, I remember reading somewhere that the movies will be released about 6 months apart, so if Part 1 is being released in November, then wouldn't Part 2 be released in May of the next year, not 1 1/2 years later....but I dunno, my memory is ust as bad as Dori's from Finding Nemo lol

That's part of the reason but they also have to work around the actors schedules - Dan & Emma have projects right through to the end of this year, meaning Deathly Hallows can't start shooting until spring 2009. However writers have been back at work for about a month now.
