| | |  Deathly Hallows: Part 2 breaks one-day domestic box office record with $92.1 million
In less than 36 hours after its release, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 shattered a second box-office record, this time the one day box office sales in the U.S. and Canada, taking in $92.1 million on Friday, its opening day. 
The previous one-day box office holder domestically was the second installment in The Twilight Saga, New Moon, which took in $72.7 million over a year ago. The film made an additional $82.5 million internationally just through Thursday evening sales. The finale's next target is the weekend domestic box office record, currently held by 2008's The Dark Knight, which brought in $158.4 million three summers ago. We will have full weekend box-office numbers, both domestic and international, by Sunday.

I love that not only has HP set a new record, it SHATTERED the previous record!! I'm so happy about that! No doubt in my mind the numbers coming in Sunday will be mind-blowing.

Well obviously would. The twilight saga is nowhere near as good as the potter saga and it will never come close. I don't really know what is so good about twilight anyway. It's just a couple of films about a girl who can't decide who she loves best, a vampire or a werewolf. Basically I would just run away screaming because neither of them are supposed to exsist anyway. Lol. (sorry to go off the subject and sorry to all those twilight fans, but that's what it is, and Harry potter is by far the best saga.) if twilight wins more awards than Harry potter or wins certain awards over HP in the NMAs then I will cry my eyes out and wonder whats wrong with the public.

Can't wait for it to break even more records. And I'm sure it will soon enough! Man, so proud to have been on this journey for more than 10 years now... Unbelievable.
Hoping the records last, though. With the new Twilight movie coming out soon, one can really only hope. But quality will win in the end  | |

That is just amazing. HP totally smashed that record. I definitely hope that it takes out the weekend as well. That would just be an amazing finale I think if the film could take out all the box office records.
