| | David Yates confirms two nude Harry scenes in Deathly Hallows
While it was announced earlier this week that Daniel Radcliffe would be appearing nude in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, more information about the scene has been released. Director David Yates, from the set, informed La Vibra that Dan doesn't get nude just once, but twice in the last installments, mirroring Harry's state of undress in the book. Quote:
"Well, Dan (Radcliffe) has appeared nude in the past, but there are a couple of scenes in the new film in which he will undress, but we're still thinking about how we present it.
"It's a fascinating scene in which Harry and Ron (Rupert Grint) are trying to kill a Horcrux (a magical creature). It tries to defend itself and creates an image of Voldemort's soul, that has a series of images where Harry and Hermione (Emma Watson) are kissing and embracing. And we will create something that feels very sexy and very intriguing to bring about a reaction in Rupert (who is in love with Hermione).
Quote:
"There is another scene in Kings Cross station, where Harry almost dies and sees Dumbledore. In that scene he will also be naked," he added.
Yates also mentioned a new scene added to the films, where Harry and Hermione are dancing (presumably after Ron leaves): Quote:
"It's very difficult to find a favorite scene, but something we just did as part of the movie truly is priceless. It's a scene where Hermione and Harry dance together and is not in the book - it's something we created for the film and is actually very tender, very nice and respectful, and they also reveal some secrets about each other while dancing," said Yates.
David discussed Dan, Rupert, and Emma's possible long-term career plans, from his perspective: Quote:
"Daniel will probably continue acting or directing. Rupert, definitely in acting, and Emma, if she wishes, could be a movie star or whatever she decides to be because she is very talented and very intelligent."
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be out November 19, 2010 and July 15, 2011. |

Well done interview. And I figured the last Kings Cross scene would be nude, as in the novel.

IMO I think the dancing sceen will be around Christmas time. I am not sure how I feel about it though. I also do not think the other nude sceen will have H/H nude together I belive it refers to when Harry has to take off his clothes to get the horcrux from the water!

| "Ah, music. A magic beyond all we do here!"-AD ♫ -Nitwit, blubber, oddment, tweak- ok, so I don't see why he has to be 'naked' on the horcrux scene...maybe in underwear....not naked....
and then the other one, I seriously hadn't noticed he was supposed to be naked...at least we'll get pg-13
and the dance scene sounds nice, no problem with that!

Hogwarts RPG Name: Roland Mow Baims Fifth Year | I think people have the wrong end of the stick with Harry and Hermione dancing. I think they dance at the wedding instead of after ron leaves.
I like the idea that Voldemort would show Harry and Hermione nude to really get to Ron, no holes barred.
I don't mind these kind of changes. The fire at the burrow was admittedly a little bit of a waste of time but it was exciting none the less.

I HATE this!
When Ron leaves they are suppossed to hardly talk to each other, yet here is this dancing scene!
I am mad and will boycott both DH movies! There is NO reason to believe they are dancing after Ron leaves. That's ridiculous. I have no clue why snitchseeker is assuming this. You are getting over excited for nothing ollie. Think for a sec. The dancing could only be at the wedding, there is no other place for it, and that's just to help set up the "I get it, you choose him" part of the story.
I swear people get there knickers in a twist SO easily! With just a few words! From only one interview!!!!!!

Now that it is explained better I think the nudity makes sense. the Horcrux is supposed to bring out these extreme fears in Ron and by making Harry nude I think it adds on to the extremity. the horcrux doesn't just bring out fears it makes them unbearable. harry nude kissing and holding hermione would be ron's biggest fear because he loves her and would be scared while he was away that something might have happened between them. i'm also sure they consulted JKR before they made this final so if its good for her its good for me
i think the dancing scene will not be happy like everyone seems to think it is. i think it will be sad. i think harry will be just trying to make hermione feel better and they'll end up dancing slowly and hermione will start telling harry about how scared she is or how much she loves ron. i dont think it will be romantic at all. more just to show the close friendship between harry and hermione.
i have complete faith in the cast crew directors and JKR to make sure these last to films are the best and i think people who say they are boycotting the movie should think about what they are saying. people have been angry when they hear about stuff the crew put in the other hp movies thats different but all the films have turned out fantastic. i'm not worried at all about whether they will do justice to this film and neither should any of you
Im sure Dan Emma and Rupert will perform these scenes brilliantly

The dance scene seems interesting, I'm not too worried about it, probaly only like 15 seconds long or something anyways if it's during the wedding, if its not, hmm that will be rather odd or it could be quite alright, I want more info on this dance

I personally think everyone who is freaking out over the dance and the nude scenes needs to calm down. I think the dance will be super cute and I am happy they are having that. By the way I am in no way a H/Hr shipper…at all. In fact I am a huge H/G and R/Hr shipper. This scene will show their close friendship and I like that because I am a big fan of their friendship. As for the nude scenes…I’m sure it’s not going to be anything over the top. Harry is supposed to be naked during King’s Cross and the horcrux scene dosn’t sound too bad to me. I am excited with all of this news and until we actually see the movie I don’t think we can judge. I have a feeling I will like this movie the best out of all the HP movies.

Everyone seems to think that because there is a dancing scene, it's a happy moment. However, there are quite a few waltzes, for instance, that are very forlorn. There is also a dancing scene in Evita that is the Waltz between Eva and Che, something that is very passionate and heated, even as it portrays a very powerful scene of the fight between Eva's public figure and Che's representation of public view. Quote:
[Che and Eva:]
There is evil, ever around
Fundamental system of government
Quite incidental
[Eva:]
So go, if you're able, to somewhere unstable
And stay there
Whip up your hate in some tottering state
But not here, dear
Is that clear, dear?
Oh what I'd give for a hundred years
But the physical interferes
Every day more, O my Creator
What is the good of the strongest heart
In a body that's falling apart?
A serious flaw, I hope You know that
I've danced under the starlight to no music, simple and quiet, just to embrace the stars.
Storm and I have danced in friendship, sometimes to hold onto what little sanity is left to present itself.
I think there is no way to judge a dancing scene until we see it for ourselves.

Obviously one occurs when Harry *spoiler* dies and goes to Kings Cross Station.
The other is the horcrux version of Harry and Hermione, so that makes a lot sense because what kind of clothes would two representations of voldemort's soul be wearing. It would be cheesy if they put them in all black or something lame emo getup.
The dancing scene sounds very sweet and I'm sure it will only add to Ron's jealously and make the locket scene more effective. Plus Harry and Hermione are tight like that so of course they would dance together. |

| Yates also mentioned a new scene added to the films, where Harry and Hermione are dancing at the wedding of Bill and Fleur (presumably after Ron leaves):
Logic would dictate that the dance takes place after Ron leaves the dance floor, not after he leaves the camping tent.

I'm not sure how I feel about the dancing scene or the nude scenes, but I leave it to the producers to make it acceptable for almost all ages to see. I can't imagine that they would do it just because....

what is wrong with the dance scene? Ron leaves the dance floor for some reason, he hasn't left theburrow to go on the search, harry and hermione dance as friends. whats the problem with that! If it feeds into Ron's insecuritiy about H/He, then it plays into the whole jealously thing he's feeling when he betrays harry by leavng them in the lurge, As for the 'dirty' scene as someone calls it. It's voldermort playing mind tricks, not a bloody tea party! and why does nudity equate to 'dirty'.It's a test for Ron's friendship . twice in the books he's let his feelings get in the way of friendship. Does he destory the horcrux or harry, does he trust Harry?
Time and time again we get this over reaction to something we haven't seen, only read about. Wait til the film comes out before casting such final judgements as 'i'm not going to see the final two films' talk about cutting your nose of to spite your face!

Guys, I'd just like to point out something. I graduated from high school several years ago, but I know we've a lot of younger members on here who haven't and might still be in middle school at least and not, er... quite as experienced with life in general. Point of this is, I've been to many, many school dances and I've been to my share of weddings. Dancing between friends? Is totally commonplace. It's not really a big deal. I danced with my best friend more times than I can count, even at prom. It's been pointed out several times in a few different posts throughout this thread that the dance is between them as friends, which just goes to show that they're reinforcing the shows of friendship and the ties that bind our trio together. I have serious doubt that it will mean anything to the contrary.
The nude scenes... I admit to being amused about. Haha. We all knew that Harry was naked for a time during the King's Cross thing, and I can't remember the whole Horcrux thing but I'm sure it's not going to be some over-the-top 'pass the eyebleach' moment, so to get worked up over it is kinda silly. |

Well..on the first time I read it,I felt sick. But,slowly I can take it a bit..If we think the bright side,it will okay.. We must keep support their plan and support all the people who involved in the film to do their best for J.K Rowling's creation.
And I love "Rupert, definitely in acting." thing.. |

Urm... I think I actually like these changes. :'D
I'm a fierce H/G shipper, but the dancing scene between H/Hr sounds really cute. They're close friends, it's a symbol of respect and adoration for what they are. A nice way to show their friendship throughout the film.
BUT NOW I HOPE THAT THE H/G KISS WILL BE IN IT XD!!
(Or else I'll be Avada-Kedavraing someone. *evil laugh*)

And I can see why they couldn't JUST STICK TO THE BOOK . They are supposed to be almost deprest not dancing around! If they are already messin with the book then maybe they should add scines abouth other caracters when Harry is not around. There is already enough good material for Harrys caracter in the books( we see everything thru his eyes)!
Scenes with Snape at Hogwarts , Hermione destroying the Horuxes (We don't know what she saw , Harry wasnt there) ...............................................

But seriously, what is this? Starkers ville!

WHAT THE HELL IS THIS ^^^^^^! Gah! David Yates, the respect you finally earned back from me has just disappeared again!
"Daniel will probably continue acting or directing. Rupert, definitely in acting, and Emma, if she wishes, could be a movie star or whatever she decides to be because she is very talented and very intelligent."
This makes it sound like Dan and Rupert sre stupid!
