Dan Radcliffe to star in remake of All Quiet on the Western Front
 

Variety is reporting that actor Daniel Radcliffe is set to star in a remake of the war classic All Quiet on the Western Front. The producers of the film spoke about why they chose Dan for the lead role of Paul:

Shooting for the film is set to begin in spring 2012, a year after Dan starts work on the Broadway production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

YAY! Well, I guess. It's a classic film but I haven't seen it. I saw it on masterofmystery's twitter and wasn't sure if it was true, until now. But good for him! :yes:

LMAO, yeah, I was randomly checking IMDb, went to Dan's (I must've been bored), and there it was. Strangest thing, that. Should've figured there'd be something to it.

I was wondering, cause I saw this film on his IMDb page as well. I thought I missed something but good to know I didn't. I hope the film is done right. I didn't see the orignial but the 1970's version which is really good. So yeah. :D

i guess im not an expert in classic films beacuse i've never heard of it!!

i remember seeing the 1930s film waaaay back (dad is a war film buff), its a good story, a little talky though, could definitely use an update. but i just hope they keep the setting (WWI), and not try to set it to any of the present day wars/ sentiments. i always felt remakes like that to be patronizing.

good luck with Dan! :) this is a challenging role, much more challenging than My Boy Jack.

Hmmm interesting. I really and interesting in seeing him in something totaly different.

In my opinion, that movie does not need to be remade. But whatevs, I'll see it anyways.

I haven't seen this film neither,but id Dan stars in the remake I'l definitely find a way to see him.

I quite agree with French December 100%. It is about time that they remake a wonderful classic and I would defintely go see this one as any movie dealing with WWI honors my great-great-grandfather Kempter. :hermy::harry:

Somehow I never ended up reading this in any of my English classes in high school, but I wouldn't mind going to see it when it comes out.
