| | |  Dan gets standing ovation at ‘Equus’
Dan Radcliffe’s new play Equus debuted with a preview performance last night to an audience of just under 1,000. A report from the Daily Mail is that Dan wowed the crowd and received a standing ovation. You can see a photo from the play here in our Gallery.
According to Equus producer David Pugh: Quote:
It's the first preview, we've got until the first night to continue working and we know what we have to do, but the boy's a revelation.
There will be 10 more previews before the play’s opening night on Feb. 27. Tonight’s preview will be attended by a couple of SnitchSeeker members. We look forward to their report! UPDATE: There is another positive review from The Sun here.

lol Oh man, the memories. I loved the opening bit. For those who have seen it: Did they do echoing whispers of "equus?" I always thought it was pretty creepy, though it's one of my favorite parts of the play.

I hope they bring it to Broadway. It's a lot cheaper to get to New York than England. Well, from anywhere in the US, that is. If they decide to, I might actually save up. Personally, I think they should take it on the road.

While I love half naked Dan pics as much as the next fangirl *giggles* besides which SS wouldn't put up fully nude pics which I totally respect btw but doesn't mean I like it  these Equus articles are bordering on the banal ... seriously. What happened to Emma's movie? Is nothing happening on OOtp? Are people even going to remember the movie if they're all at the play?

Controversy always makes news. "Today, we filmed them walking" does not. I think it's simply that nothing newsworthy has shown up about the other films. Equus, however, has parents and WB in an uproar. I've also found that more people review plays than movies. I'm rather glad for all the coverage, because I hope it'll instigate a theatre revival, since everyone's always in an uproar about the latest movie. There probably hasn't been an uproar about a play like this since before movies came into existence.
