Equus producer David Pugh has instructed Dan Radcliffe to only sign Equus-related items at the Gielgud Theatre stage door. Quote:
I have told him that he can meet his fans at the door but only sign Equus stuff.
We have had hundreds of people at the stage door every night and he is very good, he always meets them.
He has even taken to signing hundreds of cards before the performance and handing them out.

I guess that sort of makes sense.....There is always going to be HArry Potter fans waiting with hp stuff for him to sign, but I guess that would encourage them to just come see the play. The card thing Dan is doing sounds good, then he could take time "chatting" with the fans then just hurriedly signing autographs and leaving.

I was a little scared when I saw the title but after reading the actual newsbit itself...meh, it all makes sense. And the good thing is that 1) if you have absolutely nothing to sign or didn't hear that he can't sign HP products and brought one, he has a signed card for you, 2) you actually get to see the play which, in my opinion, is the most important part of all. Coming to see Equus isn't about signing products or to talk about the latest Harry Potter news, it's about seeing Equus. | |

I guess that makes sense. Trying to set Dan from Harry. Besides if people only brought HP stuff, they would see Dan as Harry not as the character he's playing. I respect the producer's choice.
