| | Dan & Emma's 'Best of 2005' VH1 have a run a ' Best of 2005' feature with celebrities stating their favourite movies and music of the year. Included are the opinions of Dan Radcliffe and Emma Watson. Quote: Dan Radcliffe
The best album of the year so far is Arcade Fire's Funeral. The title makes it sound like it's all doom and gloom, but it's actually not. The reason it's called Funeral is because seven members of the band's family died when they were making it. But it's just the most beautiful, sometimes sad and sometimes really uplifting album I've heard recently. Absolutely brilliant.
Quote: Emma Watson
The last movie I saw was Nanny McPhee, which I thought was brilliant. I loved Closer, too; it's actually kind of a mature film, so I probably shouldn't say I watched it! But I'm a huge fan of Julia Roberts and Natalie Portman. For music I love Kanye West's "Gold Digger." Great song. And I've put Missy Elliott's The Cookbook on my iPod. I think that they're both intelligent and witty. That's why I like hip-hop, particularly.

I watched Closer as well, and I agree, its good. I've never heard of Arcade Fire, but I'll take Dan's word for it and try to get the record |

I thought Closer would be good but it disappointed me. Beyond sex, it didn't seem to have much of a storyline going. The characters slept around with each other so much, it left little room for you to feel sorry for them or relate to them. IMO, at least. I've one Arcade Fire song on a TV advert and it's very different, but kind of epic and calming at the same time.

Dan, I really never heard of that album....is that wrong? Or is it just that they're not well known in the Netherlands...(after all, I also just heard of Josh Groban and he turns out to be huge in his scene in the US...)

That's probably because they're nearly all small indie bands who are only just making it big over here.
