Ciaran Hinds to play Aberforth Dumbledore in Deathly Hallows?
 

Reports are emerging today that representatives for Ciaran Hinds (The Tale of Despereaux, There Will Be Blood, Calendar Girls) have 'expectations and hopes' that he will play Aberforth Dumbledore in Deathly Hallows. Warner Brothers have yet to comment on this casting. Jim McManus previously played the role in Order of the Phoenix. Photos of Ciaran can be seen here.

Also, we told you last month that Nick Moran had been cast as a 'villain'. Word has it that he will be playing Scabior.

With a beard on, I think he could look how I imagined Aberforth pretty well.

sorry who is scabior?is he the one who captures the trio and takes them to malfoy manor?

I could definitely see him playing the part of Aberforth....he has that dark mischievous look but also has a caring smile under it all...another great casting!!!!

PS....Sabior is one of the snatchers that caught Harry, Hermoine, and Ron when they said Voldemort.

Scabior is a Snatcher in the gang led by Fenrir Greyback during the height of the Second Wizarding War. Given his association with and deference to Greyback, it is possible that Scabior is a werewolf

He was among the group that captured Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley in the spring of 1998. On Greyback's orders, Scabior checked the list of truants, searched the prisoners' tent for Harry's glasses, read a cutting from the Daily Prophet, and expressed terrified awe at the thought of summoning Lord Voldemort. He was also the only member of the group not to jeer when Greyback expressed a desire to bite Hermione, instead encouraging his leader to restrain himself. Scabior's last known act was at Malfoy Manor, when he drew his wand on Bellatrix Lestrange, lost a very brief duel, and fled with the other Snatchers.

It is possible that he was present at the Battle of Hogwarts as his superior, Fenrir Greyback, was also present.

I sort of feel bad about Jim Mcanus, the previous Abeforth, he would probably
have been great in the part too. And it's a shame he wont be able to show us
what he is capable of.

But I'm sure Ciaran will do an awesome job, if they decide to comfirm, and

Oooooh I've seen Ciaran before in an old BBC tv version of Persuasion with the actress who plays Aunt Petunia in it :)
Seems a bit weird that they're changing the actor though-they probably didn't realise what a major part he'd be.

I guess he will work for Aberforth, I was hoping they would bring the guy back for OoTP, but I will trust the filmmakers!

Ciaran is in the new Disney Witch Mountain movies, out at the cinemas in the US now.

No, I don't think Aberforth came in OOTP, but Moody showed Harry the original Order of the Phoenix picture ... in that Aberforth was there and Dumbledore mentioned him in the forth part too.

Oh yeah, this guy looks approximately like how I had imagined Aberforth to be ... hm ... lets see how he performs the role !
