Young worshippers are being encouraged to dress up as their favourite Harry Potter character for the family service in St Mary's church.
Rev Vaughan Roberts believes there are several parallels between the life of the young wizard and the life of Jesus.
He said: "Having read some of the Harry Potter stories myself, I found they contained strong spiritual, ethical and moral themes.
"One of the recurring themes is how Harry's mother died and in the process saved Harry and enabled him to have a life. There is a strong parallel with the death of Jesus on the cross at Easter time.
"Sometimes you have to be brave to do what you believe is right."
The church holds a family service on the first Sunday of each month and more than 20 youngsters are expected to arrive in fancy dress for the Harry Potter service.
Mr Roberts added: "We will be very interested to see if we get any children dressed as as the evil Lord Voldemort."

now see theres the difference! So many churches and stuff ban Harry Potter because it is 'promoting witchcraft'...where as this one has actually bothered to READ Harry Potter and realised that it is all about friendship and stuff. ugh
Ooberu i like your sig very funny, i know that it says it promotos the devil but i give up reading all that stuff its just really annoying what are they going to say next the tweenies are really lizards that are going to take over the world its all stupid the hp books are about friendship and whats important in life and you can learn alot of latin while your at it like siruis in latin means bright light (or something like that) and that what the brightest colistation of stars is called sirus. :sorcerer:
