A Norfolk news website is reporting that Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley) was seen at a job-hunters convention however he reassured them that he's not giving up on acting. Quote:
"I haven't been involved in making the fourth film and have not been working that much lately so wanted to get a job to stop me getting bored waiting for the phone calls to come. I'm still doing theatre work with my company Painted Horse and am not going to be swapping careers."

No offence, but i'm not suprised he's looking for a job.
He would of known for ages about the unnecessary need for him to be in future hp films.
Its cool that he has his own company and i hope it works out well for him.

Oh, he is doing just fine! I am sure that he just wants to keep himself busy!
And like he says he is still doing plays and acting. I do hope that they bring him back though for the next movie. I have to say I was surprised that they didn't bring him back for GOF seeing as how Percy is suppose to judge the triwizard tourney...owell!

Actually he was in three, but I know what you mean. A part of me feels bad for him. He also seems to be getting a fair amount of press out of not being in GoF perhaps even moreso than he would do if he was in it, ironically.

Prolly all the press because Percy Weasley in the GOF book has an important job, and is in the book fairly alot...yet got cut from the movie. Poor lil Weatherby! lol But it's like they're making him a quick candidate for VH1's "Where Are They Now." I could understand if he was Daniel and he was looking for a job, then I'd question it like WHA? Was he in any movies before HP? TV sitcoms?

I thought he would be in GOF because he had to take Barty Crouch's place all the time. I wonder if they'll show his growing feud with the Weasley's in the OOTP movie. I hope he gets a job soon.
And why is it that it's so horrible if he's at a job convention. It's a free country he shouldn't have to give an explanation of why he goes where he goes. I mean would someone ask you why you were at a mall. I find the media so weird these days.

Yea, I agree. I mean, what sense does this make if he (as Percy) weren't filling in for Crouch Sr. during the Yule Ball, or judging during the second task? Big difference! I mean, it should be obvious that Percy could tell Harry that his boss wasn't feeling well, so Percy could represent him or something....well, you know the story.
Ah well, this should still be good to gain other experiences in other jobs.
