| | |  Chris Rankin: Percy is a "nasty piece of work"
In a new interview with Surrey Online, Chris Rankin has spoken about his character, Percy Weasley, in regards to ' Order of the Phoenix' as well as reflecting on his experiences in the Potter franchise. Quote:
"Over the course of the films, he's [Percy's] gone from being a stuck-up, poncey prefect to quite a nasty piece of work," says Rankin.
"My character didn't appear in the last film but, when he makes his return in the next one, he starts to become really obnoxious.
"By that stage, of course, he's working for the Ministry of Magic and he's become so power-hungry that he'll step on anyone to get where he wants.
"And let's just say that the Minister for Magic, Mr Crouch, has his shoes well and truly kissed!"
Chris also talks about what he'd like to see happen to Percy in the last book; "Obviously, for my part, I'm hoping that Percy's descent into evil will continue, and by the end, he'll be Voldemort's second in command, or something like that."

I think it's important to realise there's a huge grey area between good and evil, and Percy is somewhere in between. He's a sycophant and he's misguided but that doesn't make him evil. Like Iago, in Othello. Apart from the fact that he isn't melancholy. And I can't see him with Voldemort.

Percy is one of the most obnoxious characters in this series...you know in a good book you always have to have the traitor to the family...and percy is the traitor to the Weasley family. I think he will get what he deserves in the end. He's a jerk and what goes around comes around. I really hate the way he treats Harry in this part of the series...but as we all know not many people treat Harry very nicely in this movie anyways. I can't wait to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix

thats an interesting way of saying the character he's playing.. i'd love to see if percy does make it as volde's follower.. no one see it but it might just be possible.. volde might just use him as bait to the weasleys family.. *shivers*
