But at the same time the last three movies left out HUGE pieces of storyline that at least IMHO were not just filler, but essential to the overall plot. The entire origins of the Marauder's Map and the friendships between Harry's dad, Lupin & Sirius, how Dumbledore & the Ministry split, the ENTIRE backstory of the Prophecy and how Neville might factor in, the attack on McGonagall, almost all of Hagrid's storyline in OOTP, Cho & Harry's meltdown, the fallout from Draco's father being captured, even Ginny's romances factor heavily into plotlines. I realize that the books are getting longer and there are some extemporaneous bits that have to be cut out, but it's like they're cutting away too much of the meat and leaving a few bits hanging onto bones
