| | |  Chinese Deathly Hallows released (UPDATED)
The Chinese translation of Deathly Hallows went on sale yesterday following the illegal release two months prior of an unofficial online copy. People's Literature Publishing House in Beijing printed 1 million copies and the book went for 66 yuan making it the most expensive kid's book in China. Quote:
"We are ready to print more copies of the Chinese version at any time," said Sun Shunlin, editor of the Chinese versions, adding that more than 180,000 copies of the last installment were distributed to Beijing bookstores on Saturday night.
Special contracts with shops and printing houses have been signed in order to combat piracy, but there are still concerns that the online version, which is available for free, may damage sales of the legitimate translation. Fans made their own copies in August following tthe English release of the title. UPDATE: Pictures from the release can be seen below & here.   | |

wow! Piracy really ruins the business, aye. I reckon that a lot had the online version by August, coz everyone's excited about it. But then nothing beats the real thing.

It's the first time I've ever seen Chinese books, and it's Harry Potter, so it is pretty interesting.
