| | Bulgarian website crusades to ban Harry Potter - Bulgarian website wants to ban Hp Summary:
Bulgarians launched a special website dedicated to the mission of banning Harry Article: Quote: Bulgarians launched a special website dedicated to the mission of banning Harry Potter books.
According to the website -http://www.stop-harry-potter.hit.bg/ - the sequence putting an emphasis on magical rituals was "dangerous." The authors also lash Harry Potter for making kids believe that one could fight evil forces through "white magic."*
The Bulgarians underline that according to the Bible, there is no difference between different types of magic.
"Be careful, do not open those books even if you're curious about them!" - the website says.* I got the story from Wizard News and the Wizard News Editor has his own coment on the artical. Quote: Perhaps they're just mad that a Bulgarian living in England was picked to play Viktor Krum in Goblet of Fire... The Website is in what I assume to be Russin or Greek and not English.

| Here we go again.. Another site dedicated to the destruction of Harry Potter.. that is pathetic. Besides, isn't (by posting this news that is) this giving this website publicity? I'm sure that they would love that! :/

It's giving it publicity in a Harry Potter-loving network, so it's not really going to make a difference. In fact, it'll just make it less popular with Potter fans.
There are hundreds of sites devoted to banning JK's series, but I've never heard of a Bulgarian one, so there's something new, lol.

*Sigh* Another one. Don't these people have anything better to do? Well, no matter how much they try Harry Potter will never get ban.
I went to their site to see what they had to say, and then realized that I don't understand the language. |

Get one hundred preachers together and get one hundred twenty views on any subject. Besides, if they came out in favor of anything that wouldn't get them followers.

Luckily I´m in no danger of gettin influenced and havin bad dreams because of THAT page. Cannot read those runes *lol *
What I don´t understand is what is so bad about magic. Are these religious nuts (hope that wasn´t swearing) going to ban Cinderella and medical sciences, too? No magic-stories allowed and man shouldn´t try to change what God has meant to happen? My God resembles somehow Dumbledore... Wouln´t deny me Harry Potter, not him

People are so ignorant sometimes. These people who made this site I bet have never even thought of reading Harry Potter or anything of course. The main meaning of Harry Potter isn't magic. There is a lot more then just magic to it and those people don't realize it.It's just, without all the magic and stuff, it would be pretty boring I bet lol.Oh well, Harry Potter is a lot bigger and they won't be able to get rid of it.I mean come on,it's one of the biggest things in children's toys and such and tons teens(if not more then children) like it too.

Urrrm the guy who's playing Krum was living in Bulgaria, he only moved to England because he got the role...
anywho, who cares? These things will be around forever and a day and the more attention you give them, the more they'll think they're creating tension and the more incentive it'll give them to carry on. It's like bullies; outwit them and ignore them and soon they'll go away if they're not getting feedback or aggravating fans.

Yes, like friendship and loyalty, stuff like that. Quote: tons teens(if not more then children) like it too. Lots of grown-ups, too... I´m not a teenager myself anymore (well, maybe spiritually sometimes ) , and know lots of adults who´ve read the books and liked them, ´cause they´re not only good children´s books, they are merely enchanting books.

| Quote: The Bulgarians underline that according to the Bible, there is no difference between different types of magic. Uh huh.... and Jesus raising someone from the dead was... natural? An everyday occurance? Not to mention the many other people he healed. Maybe I'm reading the wrong bible or something... but even in the old testament there was "magic" (anyone ever hear of the plagues of egypt?)

But yeah the OT had plenty of philosophers and prophesyers. Whatever you call them. And then there was that witch that King Saul visited after the prophet, Samuel deserted him.

| Guest | Ok, why is it that when your little and afraid of the shadows in your room your mom just flicks on the light and explains that its just the shadows of a chair and a teddybear making them. But then a book comes out that is supposedly a threat to us, but instead of reading the book and making our own decision about it being dangerous, they ( the nutters who want it banned) say don't read it, don't even look at it. If anybody would listen to those nutters then I could take the bible, or any other religious book and say how evil it is so don't read it. I mean the bible has some freaky stuff in it too if taken out of context could be constituted as "evil and satanic" child sacrifice (almost), a ghost that massacres first born sons, a sorceror who can do destructive things( Moses parting red sea and such), but thats not the whole story so I know I would probably be beaten up if I went around preaching stuff like that. I hope people read before they condemn books, they may be missing out on some very important life lessons and morals. |

the religious right have always tried to satanize anything that looks to sell more copies than the bible. They don't like any kind of fantasy/magic type books or movies because they feel that it takes away from their god. Whatever. the more people complain about it the more other people want to read it to find out what all the fuss is about. Don't they know that? I mean the minute I hear something is banned I go out looking for it (its the rebel in me )
Well everyone is entitled to whatever they believe I just hate when they try to enforce it on people who like reading fantasy books...they really should get a life.

The Website is in what I assume to be Russin or Greek and not English. LOL
In fact it is in Bulgarian, dear friends, which is normal, because it is a bulgarian site.
Actually, I really wonder how you discuss something that you cannot understand ???
And finally - don't care about it - there are crazy people everywhere, but in Bulgaria, Potter is the smallest problem, so there won't be angry crowds burning Harry's portraits.
Sorry for my English
Bye

[B] :sorcerer: who really cares.... i mean, aren't there bigger problems in the world? maybe if we focused on the more important things.. such as finding cures to illnesses, making sure that no one should EVER have to hear a doctor say the words "we have done all we can do"....... finding the answer to world hunger..... stoping crime in it's tracks......... helping the homeless.......... saving the helpless..... When compared to so many other problems in the world.... is it really THAT BIG OF A DEAL?? No, it isn't, not the slightest bit. These people are just control freaks, what they need to learn is that PEOPLE CAN HAVE THEIR OWN OPINIONS AND KEEP THEM TO THEMSELVES! if they don't like harry potter, don't obsess about it, i mean really..... WHAT A WASTE OF YOUR TIME!
Dumb people sicken me, honestly
