Reports are coming out that 34 year-old British actor Paapa Essiedu (
I May Destroy You) is being strongly considered to take on the role of Professor Severus Snape in the upcoming HBO/MAX
Harry Potter series.
Variety and Deadline have noted the exact same story, that they have heard from sources that the Emmy- and BAFTA-nominated actor is being eyed to play Snape in the entirety of the saga, but no confirmation has come from Warner Bros.
HBO simply said this of this and any casting. The series is tentative for a late 2026-early 2027 debut.
