I think it goes to show that the majority of fans probably are in the UK. And it's been out here for longer. So it's pretty good that it's at No.2 in the UK. Go PoA!

But I still love my Harry Potter films and im still your true fan here in the US :sorcerer: It's not that it didn't do well in the U.S., but it didn't gross that much because there are so many new movies with not nearly as high as PoA grossings on their first days. I think that PoA in the U.K. probably is number 1 & 2 still because they don't have nearly as much movies coming out at about the same time like the U.S. does. :sorcerer:

Personally, I was surprised at how well POA did. I know I wasn't alone in being HIGHLY disappointed with Alfonso Cuarón's direction (though perhaps some fault also lies with the screenwriter Steven Kloves).
I think it was likely the die hard fans who helped keep it up for so long.
Just my opinion.

PS. The effects dept., however, did a fantastic job! Dementors never frightened me in the books - but they were downright creepy in the film.
