| | Alfonso Cuarón wants to do more Potter & signs deal with WB The Leaky Cauldron have put up their interview with Alfonso Cuarón from the PoA DVD Launch - he says the following about returning to the franchise: Quote:
"Later on if I could I would love to come back and work on another Harry Potter film. It's a gift, it's a gift. It was one of the best years of my life, doing this film.
On working with children, he says: Quote:
I don't think they would appreciate you calling them children! They are teenagers, they are young adults, maybe. It's fantastic. They're amazing. It's an amazing group of actors. At this point they are such experienced actors, they are ... interacting with some of the best actors in life.
The Guardian is now also reporting that Cuarón has signed a three year deal with WB: Quote:
The deal will allow him to work not only on big-budget "mainstream" films, but also on smaller Spanish-language pictures. The deal is an unusual one.
"We had a wonderful experience with Alfonso on Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and have been long-time admirers of his work," the studio's Jeff Robinov told Variety.
"His deal will give us the opportunity to collaborate with Alfonso on movies that make the most of his artistry and vision and continue to offer him the mainstream worldwide audiences that our studio provides so successfully."

Ya Alfonso was awesome with PoA, i mean if you're referring to the script RedMartini, Alfonso probably didn't have THAT much say in that area, Kloves probably spoke to Jo about it and that's it

I love what he did with POA...yeah, it was a bit rushed, not everything we liked in the book was in it, but he did a great job. I want him back in the future films. |

I think this is great, because I feel that he captured the mood change of PoA compared to SS and CoS. Way to go Alfonso!!!

I don't like what he did to PoA much, he changed too much for me to like it...but I can't say I hated it....plus maybe JK will tell him to get a grip on the real story more...*hopes JKR does tell him that*
Sounds okey dokey though..

The changes made to PoA came mostly from Kloves, the screenwriter, not Cuaron.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Bekindi | I loved how he did POA, it would be great to see him return for another of the movies. I think he would have put everything that was in the book in the movie if he had time and the expenses, its not as if he set out to change it all. He had to try to live up to everyones expectations, not easy. I was just randomly reading a scene before and I was like "hey this is like he did it in the movie" (the scene when Harry and Hermione save buckbeak) I didn't think it was as similar as it really was. |

No. Nope. *shakes head* Sorry buddy, but stay from Harry Potter!
I didn't really like what he did with PoA. It was one of my favorite books, and the film ruined it. I know that Kloves is to blame for most of it *glare* but I would like to see what other directors do with HP instead of having Cuarón back. Especially when were talking about books 5-7. Those are one of the most important books in the series and needs to be done by someone that everyone will agree on.

I personally think that when Kloves isnt writing the script anymore it will become better.

Cauron Changed alot with the HP movies. He dared alot. IMO he did wonderful changes, it is a fantastic movie. I don't feel it was so rushed, it thought it would be way more rushed, he did not dissapoint me.
But too bad, when someone makes changes there will be people who either hates it or loves it...
even though i loved the first two aswell, they wasn't EXCITING in the same way, they didn't get you nailed to the couch. Alfonso sure managed to get my eyes big. he put emotion and art into each scene. He would've done qa wonderful job with GoF... Inmagine the opertunities he would have infront of him with the underwater scene when harry meets up with the merpeople and when Harry meets the dragon...and with the priori incentatem or whatever it is called. I'm sure he would make such beautiful sets of it. but oh well some other dude is directing it, I'm sure he can do a cool job too, im excited to see! But boho i read he wont be doing order of the phoenix either.. BUt oh well..maybe book 6 then

I agree with you there Therese! I absoulutely LOVE what Cuarón did with PoA. He's a brilliant director, -original, dramatic and daring. Although I loved the first two movies too they were nothing compared to PoA. Finally we saw that the wizarding world is an eerie and dangerous place. The first 2 movies were too much like a magic theme park. But they had their charm BTW, Cuarón as a director was JKR's own suggestion because she loved his style so that should mean that she prefered this style in PoA, shouldn't it?

way to go alfonso!!! please diresct all the movies!!!!!!
