Alan Rickman talks Half-Blood Prince in new interview (UPDATED)
While promoting his new film Bottle Shock, actor Alan Rickman briefly spoke of his role as Severus Snape in Half-Blood Prince in a new interview. While avoiding talk of Harry Potter, Alan does happily mention that he's in the sixth film "for the whole ride."
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince releases in theatres November 21, 2008.
UPDATE: In an interview with Moviehole, Alan refrains from talking about the Harry Potter films - stating that “I try to protect little children’s innocence about being able to hang on to their Harry Potter thing” - though confirms that before he begins work on the Deathly Hallows films next year, he will be directing a play entitled Creditors, after which he will star in the film adaptation of The House in Paris later this year.
Alan is awesome as always... but gosh, those people were annoying! O_o Alan looked uncomfortable throughout the whole interview.
Alan's always seemed really reserved in interviews, I think he's the kind of person who likes to choose his words carefully before saying them, and unfortunately some interviewers just don't have respect for that kind of personality. Dweebs.

Yeah I think I was laughing at their ridiculousness more than anything....they just kept interrupting each other and not really letting him speak.

He's got a great laugh! I'm glad that Snape gets a bigger part in HBP because Alan such a great actor and really brings him to life. I'm now going to watch Robin Hood Prince of Thieves to see some more Alan Rickman awesomeness!

Yeah they seemed to let their fan worship of him get in the way of being professional.
Welsh people ftw!

you know after DH, someone has got to score a winning interview with Rickman. the man must have lots to say after having to hold his tongue for more than 10 years.
He'd probably refuse on the grounds that the books are always new for someone coming to them fresh.

Yes - I'm not to sure what Alan is keeping quite about, it's over a year since DH was released. Particularly as none of the other actors don't feel the same need for secrecy.
Snape's role tuned out to be pivotal to HP and I for one (and I'm not alone) would love to hear Alan's thoughts on the role and HP after all this time.

He said it's because of the kids who have yet to read the books.
